The hotel its self is well located with adequate and free parking although the rooms don't have double glazing so If your room is facing the main road its very noisy. Our room was tiny (I think we had the cupboard under the stairs, room 210), there were damp patches on the roof where the plaster was crumbling and the toilet is potentially the noisiest toilet I have ever heard in my life as was the toilet from the room next door which woke me from a sleep a few times. The food service for afternoon tea was excellent, albeit with a few substitutions as they had ran out of some items. The evening meal on the other hand was Terrible, starters were served very quickly and even before the drinks orders were brought out, I had to ask for the drinks as our mains were served. When the drinks were served they were wrong, but at that point I'd given up! My main course was served stone cold and not eaten, but by the time I could get a waitress to address this my husband had finished his food. A free desert was offered rather than a replacement main. We accepted the desert but then waited 20 mins for it to arrive. Food and Service in the restaurant was very very disappointing. On the plus side, the SPA / pool area was lovely, very clean and not too busy at the time we visited - note this area is not manned and you collect towels from reception so if you have any issues in the SPA / Pool area there is no option but to get dressed and walk back through the bar to the reception.

Lovely helpful staff. Basic rooms. Nice dining experience although we had a while to wait for our starters (45min). The food was lovely when it arrived however I could only have the fish and chips as all other dishes I was told contained garlic which I can’t have. Buffet breakfast bit of disaster. No fruit or yougurts left on both mornings. No fried eggs and most of food was warm at best, haggis cold. Lids being left off food servers. No one there checking . Electrical fault in bedroom which we reported but wasn’t rectified a day later on our departure. Having stayed at the hotel previously we felt standards have slipped. On a plus note we did enjoy the afternoon tea.

I emailed the hotel on Saturday when I returned home from the overnight stay and I still haven't had a reply from them. Think I've given them enough time so the email I sent them is below. I've just returned form an overnight stay for 4 of us. We stayed in rooms 145, 146 & 302. The afternoon tea was lovely but things didn't go well at the evening meal. We were given an allowence of £22.50 each for 4 people and we booked a table for 7pm. The waiter took or order quickly and we ordered 1 starter of Soft taco of pulled beef which came out quickly and was lovely, we ordered Fish & Chips, Roast Breast of chicken, Katsu chicken & Korean style fried chicken burger but after 1 hour we had to ask where our food was. The waitress explained that it was a new menu and the kitchen was having difficulties with it, she came back and said someone forget to tell the chef our table was ready for our mains. The food arrived around 8:10pm and the roast chicken and fish & chips were sent back as they weren't hot enough. My Korean burger wasn't roasting but hot enough to eat and my wife ate about half of the Katsu Chicken. The other 2 meals got brought out and we were told they would be free but dont know how that would work as we had an allowence for dinner. We were planning to have deserts but as it was now 9pm we didnt want to wait any longer for a poor service. So we had a £90 allowence between 4 of us and with the free meals we ended up only using £36.35 of this due to the length of time we had already been there. We saw a few other tables complaining about their meals and also overheard a manager telling a waitress to stop telling customers that the change of menu is to blame for poor service. Our waitress was a lovely young girl who was visibly upset because of what was happening. Around 30 mins after my wife had ate the Katsu chicken she started feeling unwell then had sickness and diarrhea for the rest of the evening. We returned to our room (302) and I decided to go for a shower to freshen up but that didnt go well either, the shower head directed the water flow into the wall and made it very difficult to have one, I've enclosed a video. We went for breakfast this morning, my wife decided only to have a cup of tea as she was still feeling ill but she thought that tasted funny, i tasted the milk and it was off. Told the waitress who offered to get us fresh milk but decided just to leave instead. The other 2 guests in our party said they thought the tea also tasted funny. I work away from home and like to book frequent hotel stays with my wife and this is the 1st time I have had to complain about so many things that have gone wrong. I hope you take my comments on board so this doesnt happen to any other guests.

Just back from an amazing weekend at the Angus Hotel. From start to finish the staff were 5 ?? hotel was really warm, the lady on reception went above on beyond to help us, asking if we wanted a different room and giving us a fan. It was a godsend! Dinner was lovely on the first night and afternoon tea was one of the best I’ve ever had. The man that served us it was so lovely and even put a smiley face on our coffee. Pool area was stunning, spotless and the prebooking means that it’s never over crowded. Room was large and comfy and clean. The town of Blairgowrie has a really nice feel to it and we miss it already! To the lady on reception that said to us “I hope you come back and see us again soon” we definitely will ??

this is the second time we have visited this hotel. This time we were given a family room instead of a double room and it made a difference as it was big and roomy. The hotel has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna open to residents which is wonderful. The hotel food is very good, the staff are really helpful and friendly and the whole ambience of the bar and restaurant is also very good. Its in a great location right in the centre of Blairgowrie on the River Erich Really enjoyed our 2nd stay here and would definitely use this hotel in the future.

Nice stay although staff had not read email and arranged simple requests like room specification and dietry requirements. Spa is clean and smart. Room was ok but very noisy from traffic at front of building. We had the afternoon tea DBB deal. The afternoon tea was ok but very small. I would not like to pay for this had it not been included. Evening meal was nice although starters very small. 1 slice of bruscetta.

Stayed 2 days at the Angus, rooms were a bit dated but very clean and welcoming. Dinner on first night was amazing I had sea bass and my husband beef curry starters were pate and garlic mushrooms all brilliant. Drinks were also reasonably a tail was £7 and delicious. We had afternoon tea on the Saturday this was also good. The new re-vamped spa area was great steam room, sauna, hot tub and a lovely swimming pool changing areas were very clean and even good hairdryers. Staff were great all friendly and helpful. Downside was the online booking in which was no problem for me but it think for older guests this would be a bit daunting although staff at the moment there to help with any problem. Al in all a fantastic weekend.

Very friendly and helpful staff across the entire hotel areas. Couple of issues soon rectified in what was a comfortable room. That said, the set up of the bathroom needs to be rethought - sliding doors that do not close properly is not an ideal situation especially when the extractor fan does not work correctly. However, overall I would stay here again.

Great food & service - friendly staff - nice clean rooms. So disappointed that from 1 May will no longer be dog friendly - hopefully they may consider allocating a number of rooms for responsible dog owners.

Really enjoyed our night away despite the staff being clearly under pressure. Easter sunday lunch service was 'fully booked' and really busy but only 2 staff were serving meaning long wait times, lots of mistakes and a few te customers. Dinner was similiar with slightly more staff. Having said that, the food was fantastic, the evening entertanment was brilliant and the spa &pool area was great. We would definately stay again.

Hotel ok but must have got the room with the worst outlook from window, a wall and steel girder framework where pigeons congregated which led to noisy daybreaks.

Happy with the room and how breakfast was organised. Disappointing afternoon tea, poor compared with the quality of the dinner and breakfast offered by the kitchen staff. Ran out of saucers and had to ask for sugar and then a teaspoon !! Not what I expected as I have visited several times before.

This hotel is very clean lovely atmosphere very friendly and helpful staff. The leisure facilities are absolutely amazing spotlessly clean from changing rooms to pool/spa facilities. Restaurant food 10/10 breakfast food not quite the same food left on hotplates too long that its slightly overcooked and nor that hot. I would definitely recommend and will 100% be returning. Oops forgot to mention afternoon tea excellent.
