Had a lovely stay at Gretna Hall Hotel. Food, service and room were all great. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to stay again soon. Would definitely book through classic Britain again.

Enjoyed our one night stay at Gretna Hall and can only say we will be back. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Stayed for 2 night dinner on 1 night deal . Paid to upgrade to an executive room .Shouldnt have bothered .As much as we had a view of the carpark the noise wasnt minimal .Creaky floor boards and piper out front of hotel .Room was fine but not worth the extra money . Hotel was great to stay in , would definately book again .Staff were polite , friendly and courteous .Couldnt fault them one bit . Breakfast , a buffet , was fine . Had steak pie for dinner , wouldnt bother booking dinner next time , but thats only my opinion . I would recommend this hotel .

Lovely stay for 1night, the staff are lovely and very helpful. Food is of a good standard and very nice choice. The bedrooms and bathrooms are tired and dated and could be doing with an upgrade.

Room good size but could hear occupants above walking round and talking all night. Floorboards to room above squeaky. Room cleaned daily but no change of bed linen or replenishment of toiletries Food good, dinner menu basic but rushed, breakfast excellent. staff very helpful and friendly

We were probably unlucky but booked at last minute DBB. Booking took a while to find when we arrived. Room clean but very boxy and needed window open but a lot of traffic noise from M74. Dinner very average - service good but food more like school dinners. Fire alarm at 1.30 am - that could happen to any hotel but there seemed to be very little organisation and no-one checking room numbers to find out if everyone was outside - very glad it was dry. Allowed back in about 2am, 10 minutes later alarm went again. Breakfast average. Check out - no apology for disrupted night. Would we stay again? No - much better hotels nearby that happened to be full that night. Was it good value? No.

stayed here through classic britain a few years ago it was good value unfortunately not now ,same paint, mould now grown on windows, lousy evening meal

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away. It's the second time we have stayed at the hotel, and we have had no problems. The rooms are a little tired, and the hotel starting to look a little tired, however the staff are very helpful and very friendly, and the food is excellent. For the money we paid for our stay I could't fault it, and look forward to our next visit. The Food and Drink Manager, I think his name was Stewart, was excellent at his job, very professional and made us feel welcome and valued. I would like this to be mentioned to the Manager. Only small complaint was part of shower door was broken, reported it but was never repaired, assume part might of had to be ordered. Acknowledgement from hotel to at least confirm some thing was being done, would not of gone amiss. One other thing was the size of the room, seemed like a single room with a double bed in it. Not a major issue though, good value, good food, clean and tidy and friendly staff. Stayed here many times and will be back.

The hotel appears to be a bit tired and in need of redecoration, but we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. We had dinner and breakfast and thought the food was exceptionaly good.

Overall our stay was very good, and excellent value. However, we were disappointed that the request when booking for a LOW LEVEL ROOM, ground or first floor, had been totally overlooked, or ignored. We were allocated a second floor room, almost the furthest away possible from the lift. The member of staff in reception said he was unable to change our room. We coped with our allocated 2nd floor room OK, but feel 'What's the point of making a request when booking, if it's ignored?'

We had booked two rooms one was a bit on the small side (double) but the other (twin) was fab. Only comment was that towels are not very big Bath towels were not much bigger than hand towels. Overall it was a great hotel.

we were disappointed with reception staff as we had requested a room at the front of the hotel but she had allocated us a room nearest the m74 motorway which we have had experience of traffic noise before as we have stayed at this hotel many times before we explained this to her but she replied rooms at the front people had paid extra for so to our way of thinking we had not paid enough we have had rooms at the front before so it made us feel a bit inferior we were on a special deal through classic Britain.also the scrambled egg was disgusting at breakfast we asked for fresh egg by the time that arrived they had run out of bacon so that was another wait.as I said before my wife and I have stayed many times before at this hotel but I think it has went downhill since the last time we were there I don't think I shall be back.regards George hamilton
