We were given a room on the second floor which was not a problem for us. There was also a lift available. We only stopped for one night on our way to Inveraray. It was absolutely fine for one night & the dinner was nice and the breakfast was a buffet. It was easily found and convenient for the outlet mall.

hotel was lovely and quiet, most of the staff were cheery some dining staff were a bit sullen and uninterested looking. The rooms were fab but the food was disapointing.

A very warm welcome from the hotel staff. Although on a 'package' deal, we were upgraded to an executive room. Had a lovely two day stay for a special birthday. The food was absolutely delicious with service in the restaurant first class.

Spent two nights this week at the hotel and have nothing but praise for it. Friends and I went there several times some years ago but stopped when it started to go downhill. We heard that it had changed hands and was being renovated so decided to try it again and found it has greatly improved. We will have no hesitation going back at some future date. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. Great value for money.

This is around our 20th visit to Gretna Hall Hotel over a number of years and the quality has never varied. We are more than satisfied with all aspects of the hotel and will be returning on a regular basis in the future.

The night we stayed the fire alarm went off and the nearest exit door was locked so we had to find the next exit door. A bit worrying if there had been an actual fire.

We had a very pleasant stay at Gretna Hall hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful to the extent of one of them getting soaked when demonstrating how the shower worked! This hotel has a lot of history and although a little bit tired looking in parts still has enough charm to delight. Good location and value for money. Pleasantly surprised by Gretna and what it has to offer.

We stayed for 2 nights - 13th&14th February. Upon arrival and check-in we were given no information at all i.e. about breakfast, facilities, etc. The room was cold; the bathroom freezing. There was mould on the curtains; only one small down light on the ceiling. The curtains moved liked a "Mexican wave" due to the wind blowing through the curtains which didn't meet in the middle. We spoke to the gentleman on reception and he wasn't interested. We had to send food back to the kitchen both evenings as it was cold. The lemon merengue pie had defrosted enough! There was children in the bar on Friday at 11pm. On Saturday night, St Valentines dinner in the restaurant wasn't good, a wedding next door and the connecting doors were open; children running around the restaurant too. We went to sit in the bar with our wine and half the wedding party had taken over the bar so ended up taking our bottle of wine to our room at 9pm. I have photographs of the above if you wish to see them. The standard room (room 10) was nothing like on their website and was badly in need of TLC. Lovely hotel, great for weddings but they do not cater for other guests. Really disappointed, wouldn't recommend it or go back. We walked into Gretna town centre and its a lovely place; had lunch at Gretna Inn Pub and it was fantastic. Really sad that this hotel did not live up to your normal standard. We might think twice before using you in the future - but not your fault, so we'll see :-)
