From checking in to checking out the whole stay at The Gables Hotel was excellent. Our rooms were very comfortable and every member of staff was helpful, friendly and very accommodating. This was our first visit to this hotel but it certainly won't be the last. 10 outof10

The Room was very pleasant, adequately furnished and equipped -9 2 course meal was well presented – 9 Choice of Menu - 8 Ideal price -9 Location to Centre of Town -8 Would recommend.

Stayed here for one night at the weekend with my husband. We had a really lovely time. The room was lovely and the staff were great. Only downside was the early morning fire alarm! No fault of the staff though and breakfast was delicious. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great break. Lovely staff and nice clean rooms. We had a really tasty evening meal but I felt breakfast was a bit of a let down. It was toast and cereal, cooked full breakfast looked nice but I don’t like a big fry up so opted for the dropped scone pancakes which were nice but some fruit would be a nice option too. There was a fault and the fire alarm went off 3 times at 7am for a few seconds which was alarming with no explanation other than sorry it was wrong. However I would stay again as not anything to put me off overall

Very good value for money. easy check in all staff very pleasant and knowledgeable.some maintenance work going on but didn't interfere with anything we did.room we stayed in maybe in need of a wee facelift in places but would certainly stay again

Lovely hotel and friendly, helpful staff. Room was comfortable and breakfast was good. We had a problem with the wifi signal in the bedroom. We had specifically asked for a room with a good signal as we had to work in the evening - the only way we could get a usable signal was to keep the laptop on the floor. Reception staff were unable to help with the problem. Also, there's a sign in the bathroom indicating shower pressure problems - understatement of the year! I mentioned it at checkout but they didn't seem bothered. Despite being a nice hotel, we probably can't stay again due to these issues.

Excellent value for money,rooms comfortable,food excellent plus they take tastecard i.e 50% off food prices. Staff really friendly, all in all I would highly recommend the Gables.

Looked forward to our stay at The Gables Hotel. Room was clean, warm but ver, very tired. Breakfast was delicious and dinner on the first night first class. However there was an incident with my starter at dinner on the second night, so much so, I was unable to eat my main course. I did, of course, complained to Staff at Reception as I didn’t want to cause a scene in the dining room. On leaving on the Tuesday morning the Receptionist checked my phoned number and email address and said the owner would be in touch in a few days. We are now three weeks down the line and I have again called in at the hotel to ask what progress had been made in their investigations only to be told the owner wasn’t there. Still no contact and I am so disappointed. It is as though the incident never happened.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Gables Hotel last weekend; Sunday/Morning. The hotel was lovely throughout, from the bedrooms to the restaurant and the bar and all the public areas. The food was excellent too; we were on the DBB&D offer. The food was extremely tasty and there was a wide variety of choice on the menu. The full Scottish breakfast in the morning was wonderful too. The staff were all very friendly as well. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely time here, 2 couples on a DB&B deal. Food was lovely and menu plentiful, staff very attentive and pleasant. Room basic but all we needed for a night's stay, clean and comfortable.
