Room fine, evening meal was lovely, breakfast was average , being all buffet quite a few items not very hot and kept running out of things which took a fair time to be replenished. Had a pre-dinner drink in bar no background music so felt you had to speak very quietly. Spa facilities good although whirlpool out of action.

Have already completed hotel questionnaire. Only had one night here but thought hotel nearly perfect. Most impressed with staff relaxed friendly but not over so and informative. Good location fun place to be would recommend to friends.

This overnight stay was for a birthday and anniversary treat. We had a wonderful stay. Staff excellent a special mention to Amy and Dawn in the restaurant. The room, food and staff were all superb and a special thank you for the gift and kind note left in the room. We will definitely be back and have recommended to others.

Room was a good size with good views over stirling. Really comfy bed. Service from the staff was polite and efficient. Hotel is in a nice location. Food in the restuarant was excellent, I could eat the desserts from now until the end of time.

As expected, we had a lovely stay at the Highland Hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was in good condition and very comfortable. We also made use of the leisure facilities.

I am extremely disappointed with this stay. It was a present for my daughter who has recently been very ill. They had no bread rolls at dinner, had to ask, wait 15 mins, ask for butter and then a further 10 minutes wait. They were unable to sleep as the cistern in the bathroom was re-filling all night long and was extremely noisy. This resulted in her having a minor seizure during the night due to lack of sleep. I am a regular customer of Classic Britain and have stayed at the Highland on two previous occasions. I will not be staying there again.

Lovely hotel only two minutes walk from the castle and shopping. We had a relaxing break and the staff were friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our breakfast-the choice and quality was very good. We also had an excellent dinner.

Hotel and staff were fine but was let down by the food not much choice and the food was bland, maybe catering too much for an older clientele, don't think the food is rosette standard in 2014.maybe time to move the food into the 21st century, could have eaten every dish on the menu in 1985.

This is the second time that I have stayed at the Highland Hotel and will not be the last. Accommodation of facilitates are first rate. As it was very humid the rooms were stifling but the hotel staff provided a fan. This made the second night much more bearable.

Overall, myself and my Mum liked the Highland Hotel in Stirling. Our dinner was excellent. I liked the historical aspects of the hotel with it being the former High School, not to mention all the history nearby at Stirling Castle. My only grumble was the breakfast arrangements. I don't think a buffet style breakfast is appropriate in a four star establishment. Yes staff brought tea/coffee to the table, but not toast. I would like to have been offered toast also and have preserves and butter on the table. My pet hate is the communal toaster!!! I would also have appreciated the option to have had the cooked breakfast served at the table. Perhaps staff could offer tea/coffee and toast and then ask if a guest would prefer to serve themselves the continental buffet or have a cooked breakfast to order. I have been in lesser establishments that have these arrangements for breakfast. I really would appreciate it if the Highland Hotel could consider these suggestions. It would have made our stay almost perfect!!

The hotel was too big, none of the staff had a clue what they were doing particularly in the restaurant. There were not experienced staff and the young girls were running round like headless chickens. The bedroom was stiffling hot with only small windows. Air conditioning would appear to be essential as everyone we spoke to were roasting in their rooms.

Hotel was dirty, rooms outdated, seriously needs a good refurbish, bathroom taps are very awkward and drip, bed was very uncomfortable, get a better sleep in a premier inn.Overall not worth the money even on a 2 for 2 basis.

I had a spa treatment when on my break, the treatment was good, but the room it took place in was a disgrace, very dirty, noisy and very bright not the way a 4 star treatment room should be.The hotel overall i feel is in desperate need of a refurbishment.

We stayed for 2 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast at the Highland Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The bedrooms are a good size. The hotel was a little dated in areas and the bathrooms were on the small side but I would certainly recommmend it to a friend.
