Fab two night DBB deal at hotel. Welcome reception from staff. Prompt checkin. Great large room with front view over hills. Room clean well equipped and warm. Lovely meal and breakfast with enough choice to please partner and friends. Great pool and other facilities. Had bueaty treatment and staff so friendly. Will be back again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. All staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The facilities were excellent and catered for all that we wanted.The food was superb. The bedrooms we were in were perfectly comfortable and spotless if a wee bit cold.

A lovely weekend break. A beautiful setting. A traditional style hotel that provides all the little touches to make for a relaxing pleasant stay. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Great facilities - swimming pool and SPA. Will definitely be back.

Accommodation and quality of breakfast was very good. Service at breakfast was very slow. Glasses, plates etc not available when required. All hot food not available at same times. Queues for toast and hot food took too long. Still enjoyed our stay.

Had a 2 night B/B break. We were given an upgrade to a family room but we asked to change it. The room was dull and not very inviting and we did not need the bunk beded room. We then were given a Feature room which was bright and warm. It had a good view. The room was nice but I feel it could do with a refurb especially the ensuite.Clean and comfortable and warm. It was good of the receptionist to change it for us.I couldn't fault the service. Reception very welcoming and helpfull. We had no milk in our room and when asking for some the porter came with fresh milk and he left again fresh milk later in the evening when we were out. A very nice touch. Breakfast choice not too bad however the scrambled eggs looked over cooked so kept to the fried eggs. Plenty to eat. We had dinner one night. My opinion that there was not enough choice. Main course not bad although the chicken dish had mushrooms in it. Had my daughter known she would had asked for no sauce. We had to send back the desert. It was not fresh made so the the chocolate sauce was frozen onto the plate. The desert had been in the fridge. The waiter did admit it had been made earlier so the chef made us 2 fresh deserts Choux Buns with chocolate sauce. They were lovely. Spa and pool were good. However the treatments on the Wednesday were cancelled due to staff illness.We got 4 days notice of this. I did ask for some compensation as we had planned our stay to fit in with the treatments. The hotel reception said we could get 20% off our treatments on the Thursday. We were however given 30% off our treatments we had on the Thursday but so would everyone else as they had a January offer on. So really no compensation for the inconvenience. Have been told Hotel is due a refurbishment in March so lets hope that will bring it up to a High standard. My daughter and I did enjoy our time there and hope to return in the future

Lovely break. Enjoyed large spacious room although bathroom needs updating. Meals good value and staff outstanding in every department. Well done the Peebles Hydro.

dated - but to be fair i knew it was due for upgrade I really thought the hotel lacked atmosphere. The reception were not very informative at check in. imagine would have been very grand in its hey day.

Hotel decor is dated but overall service and cleanliness is very good. Staff are very approachable and keen to help. Classic Britain offer was excellent value.

Very nice hotel even for the age of building, looking good. Happy with overnight stay, dinner and breakfast. Pool and sauna also good if busy at times.

the food mark would have been better had we managed to dine in the hotel but unable to get reservation on both nights due to a large party of bridge players. Our request for front facing room was not available and we ended up with a view over the leisure area roof but the room itself was clean and warm

This hotel is fantastic we had a wonderful time the only let down is the hotel does not offer a kids menu at dinner you do get information advising you can eat in the lounge until 6pm but when we went at 4.45 pm it was closed for food so we had to order room service apart from this the hotel was great

Hotel beautifully decorated for Christmas . Staff helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the heat was not on in single room so that made for unwelcome start but was easily rectified. The food was just not good enough - not as good as last visit so we ate out on second evening. We really enjoy being at the Hydro and will go back again

Fantastic sized bedroom and bathroom. Bedroom walls needed painting. Tiles around bath untidy and looked dirty.Reception staff unsure whete keys for table tennis room and pool table rooms were. Bar staff inexperienced. Head waiter could have been more enthusiastic about table for 4 people.He was not sure if table available despite restaurant being half empty.

The second of our two nights at this hotel was the worst night we have ever had in any hotel anywhere. We had not been informed that it was a "Party Night". The noise from the disco lasted until 1am and then shouting, banging of doors etc went on until 3am. We were very disappointed with our stay there.
