Overall the Hotel was very good. Leisure facil very spacious and clean , Rooms very clean. Only criticism is revolving doors badly need cleaned and Restaurant was quite cool in temperature on Sunday night which affected my wife's enjoyment of her meal.

room was good but the service in the restaurant was very slow and the attitude of some members of staff was quite abrupt. We booked spa treatments but when we arrived for our treatment they had been booked by a member of staff on the wrong day, When on a break from work you look forward to a stress less break, this was not the case. We have been to this hotel twice before but it seems that standards are slipping.

Lovely stay at the hotel food was amazing staff lovely although i was a little disappointed with the breakfast long que and food took a while to be replenished wouldn't stop me from returning though overal would recommend a stay here

Just had a fab 3 nights at the Cardrona. Spoiled only by having to listen to a man treat / speak to the dining staff in a disgusting way both after his evening meal and at breakfast. He made out that he new Mr Macdonald personally ! Well Mr Macdonald you need some better mates , and your staff are second to none who acted professionally at all times. To the man complaining ....sorry but sometimes the customer ISNT always right !!! I look forward to my next stay at Cardrona in March . Best place ever x

Very nice hotel. The food was excellent as were the staff. The leisure facil are very good. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Goods walks as well from the hotel door. Would recommend this hotel.

Absolutely perfect experience from beginning to end. Staf very friendly and could not do enough for us. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Food was delicious and off a high standard. Cannot wait to return.

This was a very enjoyable nights stay. We were giving an upgrade and the staff were very attentive.The food is out of this world I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a night away. Only downside the drinks are very expensive

Very enjoyable stay at Cardrona Hotel all staff were very polite, friendly & made every effort to ensure guests had the best possible experience. The varity, quality & presentation of the food is a great credit to all the chefs and restauant personel.

Ideal hotel for a golf or spa break. Beautiful surroundings with plenty of places to visit in the area. The public area and restaurant are small for the size of the hotel. Restaurant booking was strange as the first available table on Sunday night was 9.15pm but a word with the maitre' d secured a 6.30pm table in an almost empty restaurant. Possible staffing issue? Good choice from a div menu. Wifi is good. Rooms are excellent. Staff were helpful.

1st room they gave us was red hot and windows did not open.Complained and given an upgraded room which was good.Breakfast on Sunday morning was a disaster.Had our breakfast finished before our tea and toast arrived 40 mins after order was taken. Too many in hotel and not enough staff on to cope.

Not a great experience! Deal for B&B and dinner on 2nd night with tickets to local attraction. Arrived late on Fri and were unsure as to entrance. Outdoor light not working and reception signage not illuminated. Check in easy but no attraction ticket offered. Tried to book table for meal on Sat night but no availability until 9pm but advised we could use dinner option on 1st night which we chose. Took luggage to executive family room which was lovely with views to golf course and hills, large king bed with additional sofa/bed. Returned to bar to await dinner and ordered tail from bar but had to return it as not made properly. Menu good but additional charges against most meat dishes for inclusive guests. Wrong starter brought to table, steaks tasty but overcooked. General lack of atmosphere in dining room, bit school dinner hall open aspect. Inexperienced staff. Tribute night on in function room above dining room so finished meal to the loud bass beat of band above! Music played on loudly until 1am and clearly heard from bedrooms. Ate out at Bonys steakhouse a mile down road on Sat night..highly recommend. Breakfast queue half an hour on Sunday morning as staff overwhelmed by number of guests. Check out a fiasco as presented with bill without myhotel break voucher being deducted despite asking if it had been. Nonchalant staff who chewed gum and offered no apology or asked if we had enjoyed stay or had any issues. Peebles and area are beautiful but we won't be returning to McDonald Cardrona if we ever revisit.

Hotel in a pleasant situation. Very clean, staff helpful. Unfortunately the room ( 204 ) smelled strongly of dogs. Clients should be informed prior to, or on arrival, that the room booked had been previously used by guests with dogs. Leaving the windows open all day did not remove the offending smell, which affected my breathing during the night.
