A very pleasant stay in the rosslea. The room was comfortable and had king size bed. Don't know what all the fuss is about nearby church bells, we found them quite soothing. Only criticism we could make is perhaps the en suite is in need of some updating.

Our daughter decided to join us on our night at the hotel. At the reception she was given a key to open the door.( Amanda well ) when we got to the door there were three large holes in the door were the keypad had been which you could see through. All so the door was difficult to open. The decor on the second floor was very poor. We had a few drinks in the bar and I went to use the accessible toilet and there was no toilet roll or paper towels. My daughter got moved to the room next to ours but the radiator didn’t work.

My husband was given My hotel break vouchers for his 70 birthday and we were looking forward to a relaxing couple of nights away and dining in the restaurant overlooking the Clyde. Sadly our experience did not reflect the description of the hotel on either their own website or on myhotelbreak.com ….. 4 star it is not! The public areas were more up to date, although attention to detail could have been better in all areas. We were very disappointed to be told that the restaurant was not open and food was being served in the bar, not the evening we were expecting, the food was average and the service was slow. Our room was supposed to be upgraded but the only positive was the view, it was a decent size but poorly organised and was very tired and grubby in places, the curtains were faded and stained and the bathroom was depressing. Overall it was a very disappointing stay and not at all what we were expecting from the description of the hotel. It is in a beautiful setting and could be a lovely hotel. We will not return and could not recommend it to others.

Not a 4* rated hotel in my opinion. Disappointed upon arrival that there was no lunch menu available. Staff were great and very helpful. Room was large and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was in rapid need of upgrade as there were signs of mould in bath/shower area. Food menu for dinner was basic and not what I expected from a 4* hotel

This Hotel may have been a 4 star once upon a time but it isn't now. My room had a beautiful partial sea view but the room was dated and there was mould between all the tiles in the bathroom. The staff were lovely. I only had dinner once and of the massive choice of 4 options only 2 were actually available. Breakfast was good though. Overall I was very disappointed.

Limited information about the hotel and surrounding area available. Poor service on second night of our stay. Sat in bar from 7:50pm and food not brought until 8:35pm. Staff not readily available and then when plates were cleared at 8:55pm we were told it was too late for desert as the kitchen closed at 8:45pm. Wouldn’t return to this hotel

Lovely stay & staff were extremely kind & helpful, Felt more staff were required in dining area as young staff were under pressure, Rooms clean although somewhat tired. Would not consider it a 4* hotel.

The downstairs of the hotel is ok and the staff very pleasant. Grounds and entrance to hotel quite run down. Lots of weeds looking out the front of the hotel. Bedroom was dirty. Curtains stained in several places. Radiator thick with dust and rusted. Walls dirty with marks. Lampshades above bed all stained. Chrome shelf in bathroom to hold towels very badly rusted. Grouting in tiles around bath dirty. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

Room was a bit jaded. Windows had condensation inside the double glazing which didn't look good. Dressing table had scratches and had seen better days.Sleep was disturbed by noise of generator overnight. Restaurant meals grossly overpriced.

This hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel but I feel standards are not being maintained with loose TV cables in room 8, also one of the bath towels had a hole in it,( pictures available)on our first dinner was a none event as there was nothing on the menu that appealed to us so we went to reception to see if we could get anything as the menu on your website was not same in hotel, we spoke to a very kind lady ( Lynne ) who went to see the chef if he could help us, she came back saying we could steak & sausage the next night, I would like you to send our thanks to her for doing, this was extremely kind of her as she was annoyed that we couldn't get anything on the menu, finally we feel that the hotel do with looking at the finer things that guest need, after all it's supposed to be a four star hotel and the finer things should reflect this, I don't think we would stay here unless things improve.

Enjoyed an excellent stay at Rosslea and would thoroughly recommend, particularly for the wonderful staff who are so professional but "grounded" and caring. Everyone, from Reception, kitchen, waiting, to house-keeping does a fantastic job. Room was nice and clean, perhaps ensuite could be refreshed but perfectly suitable for our needs. Food was very good from dinners to bar meals but especially breakfasts...and nothing too much trouble for staff. On the whole a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Totally loved our stay at this hotel. Food was amazing and the sevice was awesome even although they had a wedding reception on too. The young waitress with the long dark hair was lovely (she was on at night and at breakfast)as was the young waiter. Room was lovely and spacious. Only teeny complaint was pillows were more like cushions but even that didn't detract from a great stay.

The rooms had been good some time ago but are very much in need of updating. The young staff were very friendly, and responded well to specific requests, but did not appear to be well managed and consequently the service was pretty poor. No management staff were evident during our stay. Despite the failings, we had a nice stay which could have been a lot better.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rosslea. Our room overlooked the Firth of Clyde and the weather was kind so the view was amazing. Staf very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and nicely served and everything was available that you could want for breakfast. The room had all the facilities and tea & £coffee too. TV had Netflix and internet was fast and effective. The only complaint was the sign pointing to where the sign was could have been more prominent as it is only a small board and is easily missed. We did get lost.
