Absolutely beautiful stay at the Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa! Staff on arrival were very welcoming and gave us a complimentary room upgrade. The staff member in the spa was very pleasant and attentive as were the staff in the restaurant for our evening meal. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Nice hotel and had cabin room which was nice and quite big. Shower water flow poor so not a good experience. Hotel amongst the trees so like waking up in the forest which was nice and free parking by our room which was good.

Beautiful setting, staff very friendly, food excellent and room was clean. Our room (12) was at the end of the corridor....small, warm and very noisy as it's next to the door which leads to pool & spa. This door was meant to be closed at night but was still being used through the night. The path from the carpark to the pool/spa runs by the window of this room too so has quite a bit of foot traffic. Overall we didn't sleep too well, with noise being the issue.

I am very pleased to have the opportunity to write this review. My wife and I arrived at the hotel without any expectations, but we were bowled over by the friendliness of the staff and the warmth (both literally and figuratively) of the welcome. The venue is charming, set in woodlands and adjacent to a pond. We had a bar meal in the evening which was of a high quality. The vegetarian cooked option at breakfast the following morning was delicious, well cooked and served by helpful and friendly staff. We ate while taking in the morning view over the pond, with ducks, a squirrel and nature right in front of us. I have stayed in a number of hotels in the north east over the past few months, and this was my favourite by far, and certainly not the most expensive. The country walks right on the doorstep and the proximity to Yorkshire market towns only served to make the venue even more attractive for an overnight stop. I can't recommend this hotel more highly.

Very disappointing break - found it very difficult to book into spa - had to pay extra to use spa - changing rooms had not been cleaned for days (no signitures for 2 days on cleaning record) broken glass beside pool, mould around spa windows & staff walking around pool with shoes that they had walked around bin area with. Rooms very basic for price with stains on carpets (portable oil filled radiator as heating)

Great staff great food but def needs a good tidy up and money spent on the spa and lodges and surroundings. The spa was dirty big clumps of hair etc. Needs new outside furniture. With a bit TLC could be a great place

Had a great nights stay in one of the lodges, with a fantastic meal and breakfast included. Staff very friendly and quick to respond. We shall definitely stay here again, probably for more nights. Thanks ?

Beautiful setting and friendly staff however some areas could do with some tlc. This could be amazing but some areas are just a little tired and could do with updating.

The hotel was a little run down and dated compared to the pictures online but the spa was nice and the food was good too. The staff were great ?

The first room we were given was old and run down with miss matched furniture. Every other cabin had a seating area to sit outside, number 69 has 2 plastic chairs to place in the mudded area outside . After complaining we were moved to 65 which was far better. The whole place is definitely in need of renovation. I know we booked on a deal but still no excuse to put people in what can only be described as a shed.

Nice overnight stay. The only bad thing was the misleading '£15 extra' to add a dog which it states online. However there's only cabins where dogs are allowed so in fact, you need to upgrade your room , plus the additional fee for the dog which I feel is not advertised correctly online. So adding the dog was actually £65, onto of the £160 we had already paid which I don't think is worth it at all.

food was really good for whole stay - very impressed. Our stay was good....i just think both the lodges and the hotel rooms urgently need updated and new bathrooms etc...soo tired looking with peach stained baths...marked walls..it really could be such a amazing retreat in gorg location but it really needs some work done on the accomodation bedrooms.

A unique hotel, it felt like a skiing holiday without the snow or ski! The staff were really friendly and helpful, the evening meal was lovely and compliments to the chef for that! Breakfast was of a high standard too. The area where the hotel is situated was well worth exploring finding magnificent views all round. The spa was good but both indoor a d outdoor jacuzzzi could have benn warmer. On the down side our chalet room felt basic, although was very clean, the bathroom needed a vast update with many cracked tiles and bogged in sealer. The took nearly 5 mins to get through and with the shower facing its door it was hard not to get a cold shower whilst waiting for water to come through. It was a cold day when we arrived in the afternoon and our room was cold on arrival and took till evening to be slightly warm. To be fair we could have asked for an extra heater but we hoped it would warm up better than it did.

The atmosphere was lovely, staff are friendly and the food was delicious. Our only critism was that the system isn't good, mattress wasn't comfortable and is looking dated in places. We would however go again.

The room was not serviced on the second day of our stay which was rather unfortunate apart from this unfortunate oversight staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and the dining staff highly commendable

We were met by a very friendly lady at reception who directed us to our room. The room was large and warm although the decor looked a little tired it was clean and comfy. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. The restaurant was nicely situated overlooking a very rural pond. The meal was excellent, tasty and beautifully presented. We were a little disappointed to find there was no hot food at breakfast although it did not put us off. Indeed we enjoyed watching a Kingfisher perched over the water no doubt looking for his breakfast. Overall we had a nice stay even though the weather was terrible and ruined some lovely views.

we loved the hotel, Staf very friendly and we were impressed with covid measures. unfortunately i was quite ill with chest pains and we had to ring for ambulance. I was taken to hospital. My wife was not allowed to accompany me. The reception staff were brilliant, they helped my wife while she waited for our sons to arrive to take her home. We really enjoyed first night and hope to return in the future. Thankfully it was angina and not heart attack.
