The hotel is beautiful. Very well decorated. The room was very spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The resturant was fully booked but we ate in the bar, and the food was delicious. Breakfast in the morming was delicious! We would highly recomend. The reception and bar staff were very friendly.

We booked a privilege room with garden views. However this was definitely not the case as we could not any garden due to an enormous tree so close that it touched the window. Was a bit dubious as to wether we should open a window especially at night in case we got visitors from the forest!! This hotel dining area could be much improved as it is so dark which does not give a good ambience especially at the price of the food on offer. The same for breakfast area which is confined to a rather crammed area when there appeared to be plenty rooms at he front of the hotel being unused. Too dark and tired for us . Leisure pool and spa is excellent as was the bathroom. Decided to spend some time in this area and arrived by train to Aberdeen .£15-20 to hotel. No nearby bus service to get around .If you like big walks or hike this is challenging to find.

My Wife and I recently visited for an overnight stay and had a lovely night. The hotel was so peaceful & staff were so friendly and welcoming. When we arrived we went to use the leisure facilities which appeared to be filled with families using the pool, however the opening times of the leisure facilities gave us the opportunity to go later in the evening when it had quietened down. We didn’t want to eat at the restaurant, as we preferred the food options on the bar menu, however the bar was pretty busy. The staff were happy for us to order at the bar and eat our food in the drawing room which was a lot quieter. Portion sizes were excellent as well when ordering from the bar menu. Overall, we couldn’t fault our stay and would definitely stay again!

Looked good from the photos and when we turned up at the hotel. Pity some things are needing upgraded. ie. Wood panels need upgrading, Carpets are fraying a bit and also need vacuuming on a regular basis, just looks a bit tired. The food was quite good, but very pricey, We had an allowance of £25 per person but some starters were £14, Main Courses were between £18 to £29. Steaks were a lot more expensive. Desserts were around £10 each, Cheeseboard was £15. All a bit on the high side. Good points were we had quite a comfy bed, lots of , Irn Bru,Bottled Water, Caramel Wafers and Shortbread in our room. That was a nice touch. Breakfast had one of the biggest choices we have come across during all our hotel visits. On settling our bill on the day of departure the girl who was on reception duty was a bit more interested in the young man who was standing at the reception desk. He looked like a member of staff from either the gardens/kitchen/department. If I can have an answer to my comments I would be quite happy to discuss further. Tom Will.

Lovely room and welcome from the reception staff. Bar staff were very poor didn’t have much time for guests as they were too busy eating dominoes pizza and chatting to their pals. Much better team serving breakfast which was really good

A lovely hotel set on the outskirts of Aberdeen. Room was better than expected looking onto the rear of the hotel. Had a meal in the restaurant, food was of good quality.

Room fine but staircase needs refurbished especially the bannister. Staff in restaurant very young, pleasant enough but need more training. Food wasn't particularly hot at dinner. Breakfast was excellent.

Hotel, room, staff, breakfasts all excellent. There was a mistake with our bill, I had to pay it first before I could check it ( which is bad practice), then ask for correction/refund to be made. No apology —staff should be willing to admit mistakes.

Although our stay was lovely we did find the restaurant for dinner only had ourselves and 1 other table booked yet we were told the only time we could have was 6pm or 8pm? The food & service was beautiful but I was told to pick from a menu as we were on a deal!! I overheard the other table saying they could use £25 per person off the main menu? I was never offered this. The wooden picture rails at eye level were very dusty where we were sitting and the chairs were very worn/torn. Our breakfast was very cold therefor I did not eat the sausages provided but my husband said all his breakfast was actually cold. Our corridor to our bedroom was very smelly like damp but almost like a sick sort of smell?? and our shower was mouldy and un clean round the plughole this would easily be removed with bleach. I felt like our room could have been cleaner generally.

Disappointed with breakfast as you had to get your own tea and carry a cup back to your table, several times. A pot of tea should have been delivered to your table. Main hotel area very dark and dull.

Hotel was lovely, staff were friendly, room was of a high spec and although the hotel was busy there was no noise and no queuing for breakfast. Bar prices were a bit excessive. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Hotel is lovely, however, the service at breakfast was lacking. On checking in, no explanation re pool or location of. Breakfast was good although coffee was poor, very week. Food was nice, would have liked some porridge though.

Second visit to the Ardoe House Hotel. Confusion at check in. Was informed that I was due to pay the hotel £150.00 when I had already paid this by voucher to My Hotel Break. Receptionist agreed this was a mistake and he apologised. He said he would put a note on the system to alert the morning shift of this so we would have no problems during check out. Nice room, comfortable bed but view of adjacent hotel buildings was uninspiring. Ordered a pint of lager and a small glass of wine in the bar and was charged £16.45. I know hotels' alcohol prices can be excessive but I thought this was exorbitant. Excellent food at dinner. Restaurant staff very attentive during main course; less so for dessert course. Confusion at check out. Was informed that I was due to pay £25.00 for dinner when this was included as part of the package and the food ordered attracted no supplements. Receptionist agreed this was a mistake and she apologised.

Lovely hotel and lovely staff. Pool etc were well maintained and not too busy. Dinner had a good choice on our Dbb basis and liked the fact we could have our included bottle of wine, with our dinner or in the bar....not required to be hermits in the room drinking it.

Two course dinner included on our first night but there was no separate menu for this or allowance advised on a la carte menu. I was then presented with a bill for two for £100 after we had eaten which I said couldn't be correct and refused to sign for this was reduced to £30 after the manageress got called. This caused me and my partner a great deal of embarrassment and should never have happened in the first place

Nice peaceful relaxing hotel, apart from the pool area, swimming lessons and aqua aerobics meant we couldn't have a swim or relax in the steamboat, sauna or jacuzzi. The hotel should tell guests on their website.

Had a great stay at Ardoe House with my wife. The hotel in general was clean and tidy, as was the room. Staff were polite and helpful whenever we had a question. We stayed in a Privilege room with loads of space and a great shower. The room was modern and the bed really comfortable. There was an event in the hotel while we were there but we couldn't hear anything from it so it was not disruptive to our stay at all. One slight negative, remedied pretty quickly, was when I ordered my steak medium/rare but it came practically well done. I spoke to the waitress and had a new steak fairly quickly, which tasted amazing. I'd definitely go back as we found it really relaxing and a nice break. We didn't walk around the grounds so not sure what else was there.
