Me and my husband had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were lovely and friendly . The food was amazing and the scenery was beautiful. Definitely will be back again

Good morning, Apologies for the delay in sending over my feedback. I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the following staff who made our stay on Saturday 5th January 2024 a really fabulous one. We attended as a gift for my mother’s 60th and we had the best time. Everyone of your team delivered beyond expectations and made sure we had the most incredible service and conversations throughout our stay. Our room was perfect (thank you Tom for the beautiful room!), the food was cooked to perfection and the drinks flowed very nicely. We spent time in the spa and it was just an enjoyable stay! Had a brilliant stay the mrs and myself been a few times and it just gets better and the staff where very helpful got soup for my starter but it cold twice so for by that it was great to get away and especially at Mar Halll just brilliant and thanks again

In general the hotel needs some tender love and care, however, excellent value for money and the staff are excellent. Definitely be back . Junior suite and food was excellent

We had a lovely stay at Mar Hall. The grounds, accommodation and public spaces are stunning and staff were friendly and approachable. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent but we were a little disappointed with breakfast.

Stayed as a pre Christmas treat with family and friends. Everything from check in to check out was fab! Rooms were lovely comfortable beds . We were on a dinner bed and breakfast deal and none of our party of 7 could fault it. We had treatments in the spa which were amazing. One of our party is coeliac and she was well catered for, which rarely happens for her. The food was lovely and our server was fantastic! Mark had attended to us all day in the bar and then waited on us at dinner, we were very merry and the staff were great! Would recommend and will defo return in the future

First time visit on the November special deal including meal credit towards dinner and a bottle of wine in the room. Can't comment on the leisure as we didn't use it but stay was excellent. Room large and very comfortable, staff friendly, meal excellent at dinner and breakfast also excellent. As a first visit we thoroughly enjoyed it!

I feel for a 5star hotel it is not 5strvice. The room was clean however it needs a freshen up, there was mould around the shower and the carpet was frayed. There was a dip in the floor next to the bed. The meal was lovely however the spa was a let down. There was no robes given, there were 2 saunas and 2 steam rooms and only 1 steam room in operation which had no steam, it was warm but no steam. I do not feel that this is a 5star hotel and needs a refurb as its old and tired. I wouldnt return to this hotel.

Very pleasant welcome at reception. Allocated nice room in tower but would liked to have been advised that the lift didnt go up to this level and there were a lot of stairs to carry luggage up to room. Dinner was not the best as food was not very hot. Breakfast was excellent. A beautiful old hotel with great views and lovely walks. All the staff were charming.

Stayed here for our wedding anniversary. Staff very professional and friendly. Room was beautiful very spacious and spotlessly clean bed was so comfy. Spa was lovely great size of swimming pool. Food menu was amazing and the food was exceptional ! Would’ve loved to have stayed longer !

Our bedroom was lovely as expected. Sadly the food was atrocious. Evening meal on the first night was inedible and returned. Breakfast the food did not reflect the order given. Both orders were wrong, incinerated and could not be eaten. In general the hotel is rather rundown and does not merit a five star rating. It was very obvious the quality and quantity had been reduced to keep costs down. Not good value for money and would not recommend a visit.

Our stay was ok… don’t get me wrong the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful & friendly, however the decor itself needs a serious overhaul. I am aware the hotel has recently went into administration and is awaiting a new buyer, however to class the venue as a 5 star spa resort is a serious stretch at current rate. Wallpaper peeling off, holes in plaster due to door handles, outdated & tired decor. For the money that is being charged by the hotel for a regular stay (outside of deals being made available) I would not pay full price for a stay currently.

Hi the place looked amazing but was disappointed when sat in the bar whilst waiting on my room myself and my partner got a gin and a cider was told no lemon for gin but he went and got like 8 lemons but had no knife to cut so git another member of staff who told him just say we have none then my partner asked for crisps yeah we only have one packet so he got them another couple went to bar where they brought out several packets/ flavours of crisps another couple asked for peanuts no we have none which I can get incase oergy’s we then got our room and we used spa facilities only 1 steam room working the other one and both saunas had out of order signs on them.we went back to room had showers git dressed for dinner which was lovely we decided we will go back to room have a chilled night pay for a movie when in bed out tv would not work it was registered to room 14 we were room 8 we got someone from reception he said I will try call out an engineer no one returned to our room when checking out we explained our disappointment we were just looked at blankly n told well that’s unfortunate was not impressed with customer service at all

We stayed here for our Golden Wedding and we were upgraded to a beautiful suite which we were very grateful for. The staff were all lovely and courteous and Fin was such a lovely young man . The food was really good too. An excellent stay. Thank you to all the staff.

Lovely stay in a beautiful location. Staff were incredibly helpful and the room size was much larger than I anticipated. I am looking at all the little things that make a difference. I would’ve expected a cooked breakfast and not a buffet. The facilities did feel a little tired and in need of modernisation to make the entire experience feel 5 star.

Lovely stay for a one night ‘babymoon’ ahead of our new arrival. We arrived to find we’d been upgraded to a beautiful junior suite - thank you! Meal in Cristal restaurant was lovely as was breakfast and we also enjoyed the pool and gym area. Beautiful surroundings and great, attentive staff. Property is a little tired in places but actually exceeded my expectations in comparison to some reviews.

It’s a historic hotel. The staff was excellent very helpful and so kind. The place was amazing the views were amazing the garden and the rabbits that were wandering around the garden made everything special.
