Directions to the Polochar Inn on Isle of South Uist
South Uist is part of the Outer Hebrides, and the inn is situated on the southwest coast near Lochboisdale.
From Glasgow (mainland):
Ferry to South Uist:
Head to Oban Ferry Terminal (approximately 2.5 hours from Glasgow).
Take the ferry to Lochboisdale (South Uist). The ferry ride is around 5.5 hours. Be sure to check ferry times as they vary based on the season.
From Lochboisdale (ferry port on South Uist):
Exit the ferry terminal and follow signs toward the A865.
Head southwest on the A865 for approximately 12 miles (19 km).
When you see a sign for Polochar, take a left and follow the road to the coast.
The Polochar Inn will be on your left with views of the sea and Eriskay.
From Benbecula (if flying into Benbecula Airport):
Head south on the A865 toward South Uist.
Follow the A865 for about 21 miles (34 km), passing Lochboisdale.
Follow the same directions as above, turning left towards Polochar after passing Lochboisdale.
