The Riverdale Hall Hotel in Bellingham lies on the banks of the North Tyne River. Originally built in 1866 as a Victorian home, the current owners , the Cocker family, purchased the hotel in the late 70’s and have tastefully converted it into one of Northumbria’s most outstanding Country House Hotels with extensive sporting and leisure facilities. The situation of the Riverdale Hall enables guest to enjoy views of the hilly and rugged fells of the Northumberland National Park as well as being within easy reach of Kielder Water, Kielder Forest, and of course Hadrian’s Wall.
Each of the bedrooms at Riverdale Hall are well appointed with en suite bathrooms, shower, colour television, telephone, and tea and coffee making facilities. Some of the bedrooms have a balcony or small patio area, whilst others are designated as family rooms, and can accommodate additional beds as required. The ground-floor rooms in the Museum Wing are popular with those who find stairs difficult. Each of the bedrooms at Riverdale Hall have been designed to give you the comfort you deserve.
Whilst each room is individual in both size and outlook all standard rooms have exactly the same facilities as the superior rooms.
Superior rooms are generally south facing with views across the grounds towards the river. Some have balconies and some have little patio areas.
Two of the family rooms have both a double bed and a single bed whilst the third is very large and has a double bed and three singles.
Riverdale Hall currently has two feature rooms – one, in the main house, has a large half-tester bed and a bathroom with a roll-top bath and seperate walk-in shower. The other, in the garden wing, has a patio area, large bed and bathroom with a slipper bath and separate walk-in shower. Both have views across the grounds to the river.
RIVERDALE COURT - SELF CATERING
The two first-floor apartments, Blakey and Graham, have balconies and the ground-floor apartments, ABRAHAMS and MILBURN, patio areas, all overlooking the cricket field, the North Tyne River and bridge and Dunterley Fell (Pennine Way).
The Abrahams has two bedrooms (1 twin & 1 double) with the larger bedroom easily accommodating a family of three, one large bathroom with bath with shower over, an open plan lounge, kitchen (with dishwasher) and dining area.
The BLAKEY has two bedrooms (twin or double as required) one of which has an ensuite bathroom, a further bathroom – again with bath and shower, an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area.
The GRAHAM has two ensuite bedrooms (1 twin & 1 double) an open plan lounge, kitchen (with dishwasher) and dining area.
The Milburn has one large bedroom (twin, double or family of three), one bathroom with facilities for the less able bodied, an open plan lounge, kitchen (with dishwasher) and dining area. . Car parking is adjacent.
