Dinner is served in the Devon View Restaurant from 6.30pm to 9.30pm every day.

Directions to Highbullen Hotel in Umberleigh
It is easy to find our hotel near Barnstaple, at the very heart of North Devon. From the M5, leave at junction 27 and take the A361 towards Barnstaple. After about 20 miles of lovely driving across Exmoor, at the Bish Mill roundabout, turn left onto the B3227 towards South Molton.
Progress through South Molton and towards the end of the High Street bear left onto the B3226. Follow this road along the Mole Valley for about 5 miles until you see the brown sign for Highbullen Hotel, taking the right turn, up the valley.
At the top of the hill, turn left following the brown sign to the hotel and the signpost to Chittlehamholt. Go carefully through the village of Chittlehamholt and you will find the entrance to Highbullen Hotel on the left just after you leave the village.
Helicopters can land on site at Highbullen with at least 24 hours prior notice and conditions permitting. Or landing is possible at Eaglescott Airfield for helicopters and light aircraft, about 6 miles away from Highbullen.
Highbullen Hotel is surrounded by the 18-hole USGA specification golf course, set in richly wooded parkland with breathtaking views across to both Dartmoor and Exmoor.
The 5600 yard, par 68 course is an excellent test for any golfer and is perfect for a round with friends, clients or just a chance to practice your golf skills. Testing but not intimidating, it is little wonder that golf guru and BBC presenter Alex Hay describes Highbullen as “an absolute gem”.
There are few better places for walking in North Devon than at and around Highbullen Hotel. As well as the rolling hills, rivers and woods all on our doorstep, nearby there is also the wilds of Exmoor to explore and some of the best coastal walks in the UK, along the South West Coast Path.
Nearby to Highbullen Hotel is some of the best shooting in the country. We work closely with local shoots and can arrange shooting parties for you. We can accommodate individual guests or teams of guns.
Highbullen Hotel is ideally situated on a spur of land between two of the best fishing rivers in Devon, the River Mole and the River Taw, with beautiful scenic views of both valleys from the hotel grounds.
North Devon is not only an area of stunning landscapes, it has many different cycle routes and dedicated trails which will tempt you to explore the area further.
You will find that the Tarka Trail is one of the UK's most popular traffic-free cycle routes. It runs along the route of a former railway and forms part of the famous Devon Coast to Coast cycle route from Ilfracombe to Plymouth.
Exmoor, which became a National Park in 1954, has a great variety of landscapes within its 267 square miles. As you explore Exmoor you will find moorland and woodland, combes and farmland, and a stunning coastine with high cliffs plunging into the Bristol Channel with views across to South Wales.
NORTH DEVON GARDENS
North Devon has some excellent gardens to visit. RHS Rosemoor and Castle Hill are two great local gardens to explore, but you will also find Hartland Abbey and Gardens, Tapeley Park Gardens and Marwood Hill Gardens all in the local area.
SOUTH WEST COAST PATH
The South West Coast Path offers 630 miles of coastline, with the chance to experience the heritage, wildlife, geology and breathtaking scenery.
Lundy Island, 18 km off the North Devon coast, is a three and a half mile long, half a mile wide, 400 feet high granite outcrop. The majority of Lundy Island is made up of a hard granite, which has withstood a constant battering from the north Atlantic Ocean waves for many thousands of years.
