Overall pleased with the hotel, except for 2 things. In the morning there was no in the bedroom, so no shower and there was plenty to choose from at breakfast, unfortunately the hot breakfast was not so hot, just warm. If these things were fixed it would have been a lovely stay.

The check in staff were very friendly. There was no wine on arrival so we had to request it and no time to drink it before we went out. Room was beautiful but it was a bit cold. We were not on the list for breakfast so we had to wait while the girl checked. Worst breakfast ever no bacon no black pudding, eggs like rubber, tomatoes not cooked, orange juice like water and mushrooms too dry. Had to wait for sausages. Handy for Haymarket station. Staff were lovely

Poor hotel. Rooms are dated and tired. Shower was absolutely useless due to the low pressure. Deal we had included a bottle of wine in the room in arrival. This wasn’t there and had to be requested from reception. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was ok.

Terrible front desk staff. When we arrived, 2 hours early but hotel was okay with that, I made a comment to the front desk that I had had nothing to eat all day and I was starving. The reply from her was, ‘ 3rd world children are starving!’. Then later when we returned from having something to eat, the same lady was telling the couple in front, how to use the lift, get into room, breakfast. I was just handed my room card!! Then went up to room and no complementary wine so we went down later, on our way out for tea and asked. ‘ what wine? No record of it on your booking’ this was a male front desk staff this time. I showed him the email from my hotelbreak so he wrote ‘ bottle of wine’ on a card and I was told to take it to the bar and they would give me a bottle. I asked, are u serious? And when asked, he said no he wouldn’t be sending it up to our room. Again I gave him another chance to change his mind which he refused. Taking the card to the bar staff, the lady behind the bar apologised, said she would sort it and asked when would be a suitable time. Because we were going out, anytime was our reply. And when we returned later in the evening , it was in an ice bucket with glasses. Shame she doesn’t work on the front desk. The room had a broken remote, the tv didn’t work, the window was covered in dirty streaks and dust on the inside, front of mini fridge had thick dust on it, as did the back of the tv. In the dining hall, a fire extinguisher behind my seat was thick with dust. I received an apology two days later from the hotel with the promise to take action but I’m afraid the comment about 3rd world kids, was inappropriate, embarrassing, made me very angry and even though I wanted to, I never went to a low a level as her. It ruined our whole weekend and we couldn’t wait to get home. We will never be back, unless the lady in the bar is on the front desk and the other two have been removed. For such a highly rated hotel, an absolute joke . Weekend run ones by two people!!!

Had a lovely time at the Leonardo Royal Hotel rooms lovely and staff very friendly and helpful. We had our evening meal in the hotel and it was really nice would recommend it definitely would stay there again not a far wslk into Edinburgh city centre .

My stay at Leanardo was brilliant, room was beautiful, food was great too,staff from front of house to cleaning operatives were very pleasant & helpful nothing a problem, would recommend to everyone to stay here ,I will definitely be back 100%

Bed was very comfortable and large had a great nights sleep and room was very spacious! Great location to the city. However hot breakfast was cold, missing bottle of Prosecco on arrival, lack of water pressure when running the cold tap (room 421) There was also left over rubbish in the bin as we arrived in the room underneath the plastic bag inside. With there being a couple small problems we would definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff, huge portions at dinner and a great choice at breakfast. I would book this hotel again, not too far from shopping and lots of bars and restaurants in this area. My only complaint would be that the bedrooms windows were locked and I would have liked to open one.

wonderful hotel in ideal location rooms were excellent and large beds so comfortable dining in hotel restaurant was the only disappointment , no beef in the chilli and no ceaser sauce on the ceaser salad

Second stay here. Loved the service and the room. Only thing needed was an improved dressing area. Lighting could have been more appropriate for applying makeup. Mirror could have been of the correct height combined with the chair provided. Other than this minor issue, we had a great stay

The room was lovely and clean, great value for money for the size of it. Amazing location we were able to walk to the centre easily. All in all a great hotel.
