We felt that £25 per dog per night was outrageous and we were not made aware of this amount when booking. We were horrified to find the only way up to our room was by lift as the stairs and corridor could not be used due to maintenance work. Should there have been a fire we wouldn't have been able to get out, again we were not informed of this and an alternative escape route was not provided.

Arrived at hotel at 7 mins to 3 but couldn't check in until 3 exactly! Harassed receptionist took our evening meal details but unfortunately forgot to pass them onto the kitchen. Only plus was a really lovely lady called Lorraine who I had spoken to prior to our arrival & she had organised an iron & ironing board for our room. I did meet her & thanked her for her help.Hotel has a lot of stairs between lifts & rooms. Not suitable for guests with walking difficulties. Windows were in dire need of replacing & scaffolding around at least 2 sides of the hotel & outside our room.

Very pleasant hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Good choice for all tastes on the evening menu, and plentiful, freshly cooked breakfast items. Delighted to be allocated a room with a sea view - I spent more time gazing out of the window than I did watching tv or reading the book I'd brought with me. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Good value for money - will go back.

Excellent location. Rooms clean. Food was as expected. Would have been nice to have been told on check in that there was a boiler problem and no . Good value for money and would definitely return

Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Staff very friendly and polite. Buffet style breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Overall decor in the room is a little tired but it’s a Victorian hotel in a great location and it just adds to the character.

The hotel was in a good location on the promenade. The room was lovely and spacious with a view overlooking the sea. However, it was let down by the smallest bathroom I have ever seen, you couldn't swing a cat in there and there was nowhere to put your toiletries. The toilet was almost touching the wall on one side and the bath on the the other and the door banged in to the basin, it was not fit for purpose. I ended up going to the ladies cloakroom on the ground floor. The food was ok but not many vegetarian options, the breakfast was nice. The bar area was fine but there was no entertainment on. Despite the bathroom we enjoyed our stay and would go back again. Our other friends had lovely bathrooms so I hope this one is just in need of refurbishment as it needs it.

Excellent value stay. Staff were great, facilities a little tired. Pool was very small but enough to swim, changing facilities were limited. Overall it was great value, but you get what you pay for.

My room (123) was perfect, lovely and clean. Spacious and just so relaxing! I am vegetarian and the times I didn't want what was on the menu, the chef made me a delicious alternative, no problem! The people at the reception and the bar were very busy and efficient, but I never felt rushed or ignored. I will definitely be going back here again.
