Avonbridge Hotel, Hamilton

Had a one night stay on the Sunday saver deal. Hotel reception and dining room look as though they have been refurbished but the bedrooms are very dated. Room was very clean and very warm so had window open all night. We were at the rear of the hotel and unfortunately there was something outside that switched off and on all night (sounded like a fan) which kept my wife awake as she's a light sleeper. The food at dinner was excellent and breakfast was good too.

We had a lovely stay with a beautiful dinner & service at dinner was amazing. The room was nice. Breakfast was disappointing with 1 boy serving, he was walking around putting breakfasts down instead of checking they were the correct room number so this system doesn't work.. between my table and the table beside us there was not 1 correct breakfast.

Got a great hotel deal, me and my mum had a lovely time here on Sunday. Staff friendly and also good food. 2nd time staying here but we will be back!

Had to request the bottle of wine 3 times and my partner had to go collect it at 10pm! Not in room on arrival!! Whirl pool bath didn’t work, holes in the towels and receptionist just commented “oh” when my partner complained and got fresh ones and handed them to my partner!! Wall paper on bedroom ceiling peeling off and dinner was a catalogue of errors culminating in getting food served wrong 3 times after orders being taken by waiting staff!!! No apologies offered but food swiped away to other tables!! Also very limited choice on menu as no fish or steak pie available and only dish my partner would eat left on the menu was spaghetti bolognese!!! Lemon desert was supposed to have biscoff biscuit but came with strawberries and strawberry sauce instead!! With no explanation and it was very obvious that staff were not communicating with each other! No eye contact or interaction with guests and felt they were greatly over stretched!! Felt very deflated by this short break and not the relaxing break that was much needed and I would most definitely not recommend it. I had such high hopes but - oh well!!!

For the bargain price we got this hotel it was well over our expectations. Room was pretty standard and tired but bed and pillows were good quality, with good standard of linen. Got a great sleep. Amenities were reasonable. Food in the restaurant was exceptional and would highly recommend. Staff were all very welcoming and friendly, Will be sure to return

Been several times ,really enjoyed it lovely place. on this occasion have to say service at dinner was a bit lapse, waited about 40 mins after main meal, no one came near us to ask about dessert ended up just walking out and leaving it.will say up to that point food was great as usual, just a bit disappointed thanks

When we arrived at the hotel the receptionist was abrupt. We went into the bedroom and the curtains were closed. My husband opened them and there was a brick wall just a few meters away. There was a path were numerous staff kept walking up and down. There was no privacy!!! Diner was ok. The breakfast was awful I poured a cup of tea when I added a little milk it was grey. I then had a coffee instead it was cold. The food was greasy and I had an upset stomach afterwards

We checked in at 4.40pm and our room was small with only frosted glass in the window as it looked out onto a flat roof area. However it was directly above the disco playing in the room below us and the noise was so bad we were on the verge of checking back out until we asked when the noise might cease and thankfully this happened about 6.00pm. Thereafter lovely and peaceful and meal and service could not be faulted. If booking again would check first if there is a function on at the same time and if so would certainly not go. If no function on then can recommend and would use again.

Great value for money, food was excellent, staff were excellent couldn't do enough for you. room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, breakfast great everything you could want. lovely outside space beer garden very comfortable. Will defo be back.

This was an excellent wee get away. The service was first class,from check in till departure. Food was excellent as was breakfast. Staff were professional and friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend and would go back. Exceeded our expectations. Happy days x

Room was very nice but was in an annex, which meant a short walk to main building for meals/bar etc. Couldn't fault the evening meal but breakfast was a huge disappointment. Needs to be properly organized and labels on tea and coffee flasks to stop everyone opening lids and sniffing to tell what's in them. All in all a nice stay slightly spoiled by awful breakfast experience.

We had a very enjoyable stay last weekend with friends. Food was delicious, rooms comfortable and Bar Milano was a nice additional feature within the hotel where we enjoyed a few drinks after dinner & listened to the DJ. No complaints and very good value for money. Would definatley return.
