Windmill Village Hotel Golf Club & Spa, Coventry

A mixed experience at this hotel. Our room was large and across the court yard which was nice - decor a bit tired though and bathroom wasn't the best, also worn and shower head looked in need of replacement. Plumbing in loo made a very really loud noise every tie we flushed whiich was really annoying. As we had a long drive and didnt arrive unbtil around 6pm, went straight for food. When we came back found remote for tv wasn't working & room was only set up for one with cups. This was rectified quickly. when we reported it We decided to wait see if we could change the room the next morning as we had already asked about a room upgrade when checking in and told the hotel was full. The next morning the man on reception asked what the issue was and was very helpful told us to come back at 3pm and we coud move to an upgraded room in the main hotel, whcih we did. This did somewhat cut into golf and spa timings/olans though. This room was much smaller but better decor. No issues with our plumbing but as soon as the roomn next door flushed the loo or ran the shower it was very noisy! The walls seemed paper thin and you coukd hear the chatting! The room was exceptionally hot but the heater wasnt on, so coudnt quite figure that out! Golf was excellent - Spa treatment - masaage was very good but I think over priced for the lack of any kind of spa type facilities such as a rekaxation room. You just get changed in normal changing room. There seemed to be some debate as to wether my online booiking included robe, sliipers and towel, whcih as a resident guest and having paid £90 I would have expected anyway. I did get this after explaining I didnt book a spa day as I was staying. The chnaging room floor was very wet and I nearly slipped a few times in the slippers so ended up ditching these. The the was very good, and it was an excellent massage. Partner reported golf was also excellent. The absolute hightlight of this hotel had to be the excellent food and 2 course meal. The restaurant and food was great, we coulnt fault it. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast also excellent, great choice and again very helpful staff. As we had a long drive home, we didnt take advantage of the late check out. Some minor tweaks and a bit more attention to detail at this hotel would definitley improve the guest experience.

Good location, attractive grounds, excellent meal in the restaurant in which staff were really lovely and helpful.

Room was comfortable and clean. We used and enjoyed the swimming pool - and the breakfast on the first day was excellent - on the second day the hotel was quiet so the breakfast was made to order rather than a buffet but that was fine with us. Parking is free and not far from the entrance to the hotel.

Overall good hotel and nice staff, nice breakfast, nice view and have plenty of electric car charging points. With such a nice view with golf range, it would be good to give the rooms a little bit of freshen up.

Our stay was excellent, all staff were extremely helpful and polite. Rooms were really nice and well equipped. We used the pool which was great. I would definitely come back and have already recommended to a friend. Our visit was for the NEC in Birmingham and this was only 10 minutes away

We stayed for one night as were attending an event at the Warwick Arts Centre, which was about 15 minutes away. Our spacious well equipped room was on the ground floor with seating outside overlooking the golf course, which was lovely and probably very nice in the summer months, not a chilly October day. Yes as other reviewers have said the decor in the bedroom was a bit dated, but it was clean and of a good quality, an adequate bathroom and a comfortable bed. All the areas we went to in the hotel were clean, staff clearing tables in the bar as soon as others had left and in the morning breakfast was self service and all the staff we encountered were friendly. We would recommend and will return.
