Ticks all the boxes-and then some! From welcome at reception to departure, all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was fabulous-comforts tray brilliant. Arran Aromatics toiletries in bathroom-and not the annoying one use tablet of soap-it was a dispenser, so you used as little or as much as you wanted. The food was fabulous. Absolutely faultless, and I do not often say that! Even catered to my request of lightly done scrambled eggs at breakfast. The dinner was fine dining and every mouthful delicious. I had to have the soufflé on both nights it was so amazing. The only comment I will make is perhaps the background music could be changed as it was pretty depressing. We have been having a pre-Christmas weekend away with friends for 16 years and this is the first time we said on departure that we will book for the following year! Saying that, we love Cringletie so much, I don’t think we will be able to wait a whole year before we return!

No idea what to expect so a lovely surprise - great suite, wonderful food, great ambience and very well trained staff. Will definitely re-visit

The house is set in beautiful Surroundings.You always receive a warm welcome when you enter by friendly staff. We visited for a delicious Sunday 3 course lunch. We enjoy a Sunday lunch of roast beef & all the ts which was cooked to Perfection. I have visited a couple of times for afternoon tea by the log fire. Our surroundings were comfortable and the food was delicious. On all occasion we left feeling satisfied. Well Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Wild weather, but a very warm welcome at Cringletie House. Biscuits for our whippets on arrival (they were very impressed!). We had the Traquair room: wooden floors, beautiful decor, spacious, warm, lovely bathroom and complementary whiskey! Roaring fires, pleasant grounds, very amenable staff, great food and lots of nooks and crannies to while away the hours chatting with friends we don't see often. Hearty breakfast the next morning, and we will return soon!
