We returned to this hotel and stayed for 2 nights, after visiting to play golf last summer. The hotel is lovely! The staff were very friendly and helpful and there is a real charm about this hotel. They have excellent free wifi, and several lounge areas, including a billiards and snooker table. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms in the Courtyard, it was spacious and comfortable. The only thing missing was robes in the room.... I would have expected them as standard in a deluxe room. We ate in the Cellar on the first night. The food was very good, the chips were amazing! The only negative was my husbands pudding - he had chocolate brownie and it was served cold and it was hard, he didn't finish it. My pudding however was fantastic. We ate in the Devon View on our second night, and food and service was excellent. And what a view we had! We played golf twice whilst we were there. It's a really nice course, the fairways are covered in daisies though which is something I've never seen before! They were doing work on the greens which was a shame but they have to do that at some stage, it made putting interesting! It was lovely to come off the golf course and relax in the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Breakfast on the second day was much better than the first day; on the first day I had smoked haddock and poached eggs but the eggs were served hard. I did ask them to be done again and when they came out again, they were perfect. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we will be back; I haven't given it 5 stars due to the lack of robes and the 2 issues with the food.

We visited Highbullen Hotel and had the most wonderful, relaxing and superb stay. The food, the service, the rooms, the golf course, the scenery and the massage with Denise Brend was excellent. We could not rate our weekend any higher. Thank you to all who made our weekend fabulous.

WOW. 2 nights in DeerView 91. Wonderful view. The room was spacious and well-equipped for family of four. Food was excellent and innovative, compliments to the chef. Staff were very friendly and accommodating in all areas. The golf course was lovely but the daisies and dandelions made keeping track of your ball a little difficult whether you used white or yellow. All the same, excellent game although I think my son was more concerned with driving the buggy between holes! The simulator was a nice touch, especially for the kids and covered many games. Beautiful grounds and views even at this early time of year. All in all a very relaxing stay and would highly recommend. Once again, all staff were brilliant and probably made for our best hotel stay for ages. Almost forgot, the beds were so comfortable, better than home!
