Lovely old hotel in a beautiful setting. Our room was very large, comfortable and quiet. The food was excellent and the service was exemplary. The grounds are stunning and the meals are taken in a conservatory looking out over the gardens. Perfect for a restful break away. Will return.

Lovely hotel but issues with evening dining . No variation on menu … even a dish of the day would have been nice. Almost half the items on menu had a supplement. No butter with bread rolls on evening menu. Margarine ! When requested butter was told chef had run out. Got last breakfast yoghurt too after asking ! Few cobwebs in room but all in all didn’t matter. Dining issues a big thing if you like your food.

Grinkle Park is a lovely country hotel, with just about everything you would want from a "smart" hotel, and the DBB deal was exceptional value. TV reception was a bit dodgy in the bedroom.

Due to an issue with several items on the booking descriptor no longer being offered, we were extremely pleased by being offered an upgrade to the best suite in the hotel. Lovely room, ( especially the additional dressing room!), very clean and spacious. Restaurant food was delicious, served by attentive and friendly staff. Overall a very enjoyable stay, the only downside was the time of year… Whitby was closed!

We stayed in a deluxe double room which was immaculately clean. It had everything you could need including a welcome letter. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. A credit to the hotel. On the Friday we chose steak and chips. It was a bit of a wait but it’s honestly the best steak and chips we’ve ever had. The breakfasts are amazing too. We had a walk around the beautiful grounds on the Saturday and although the weather was wet it didn’t spoil it at all. Then we enjoyed playing snooker on the full sized table. We slept well although personally we found the room a bit too warm during the night. Personal taste we suppose. The invisible guest in the room made our stay a little different! Very strange! We would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel with a very spacious room ( deluxe). Staff were friendly and helpful and food was very nice. The downsides were the shortage of staff to give a good service, the bar was frequently unmanned. There were extra charges for gratuity on drinks and a £10 charge for the room booking. This was not made clear at the time of booking only on checkin . They are apparently optional but when automatically applied to your bill its awkward to ask for them to be removed.

On arriving go told room wasn’t ready till 2pm but we had booked afternoon tea at 2pm wasn’t told where or what to do just vicky would come and find us when room is ready. When went back was told room still not ready and with being busy should of been a 3pm check in quite abrupt not our fault on time check in was rushed up stairs to room to see but we’d been put in a double room so had to go back all the way down to be told you go have your afternoon tea and it will be sorted Afternoon tea was lovely but miserable staff but ok Evening meal was nice but again seemed to be rushing meals Morning breakfast again didn’t get a lot of information on what to do but was ok Evening meal again was alright breakfast next morning was disappointing under cooked breakfast and took ages to be served not happy staff Lovely hotel and grounds Expensive drinks Check out ok until we said we wouldn’t pay service charge So in all think staff need customers service training felt very uncomfortable the hole time there ?

Arrived to a lovely warm welcome and then promptly taken to our room, which was up many steps (no lift) the room was quite small but serviceable and considering we only booked it 3 hours before we arrived settled for what was available. The hotel was full and it was very busy the day we arrived we had a champagne afternoon tea which was perfectly fine. Our deal was on a DBB deal, there were some issues with the availability of some of the items on the menu, but I do have to say that the food we did have was lovely and any issues were dealt with immediately.

Very enjoyable stay . The food was excellent. Very friendly staff Would visit again . The only negative was very poor WiFi due to the remoteness of the hotel but then again the grounds were stunning.

Our first time staying at this hotel. We arrived on the Sunday afternoon for our 3 night DBB break. Overall the food was very good, quite fancy, but very well presented to the customer. The drinks prices were not unreasonable for staying in a hotel. There were a couple of things that I’m going to comment on, the bed could have been bigger, also the fact that there was a couple of signs on the bar stating there was a service charge on food and drink served within the hotel. I think this should be down to the customers to decide if they would like to leave a tip for the staff after they eat/drink/stay at the hotel. There are now quite a few hotels doing this practice. Afraid I’m not a fan of this.

Loved the remote location but you need a car to get to other areas to explore. There isn't a lift - this wasn't a problem for us but could be for less able travellers. Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location with friendly helpful staff. Room size was great and the bed very comfortable. Loved the sitting area in our room and also that we overlooked the gardens. Lovely gardens and sweeping driveway. Dinner and breakfast were well presented, tasty and served in a lovely dining room. Bar and communal areas lovely to relax in.

We stayed before but a few years ago. It is still excellent. Don't expect razz-a-mattaze. No it dosn't have a pool or a Spar or anything fancy. It is a beautiful country house with lovely gardens and grounds. It is old fashioned with lots of beautiful wood inside. The staff are really welcoming, friendly and helpful. (at breakfast I said to my wife, you should have ordered a sausage I'd have eaten it. The waitress heard me and brought one. Its those extra touches) Downstairs its full of comfortable seats in the lobby area, the lounge and conservatory. Most overlooking the grounds. You can tell how good it is because its booked to the gunnels for weddings. During the week of course there are good offers to be had. We had rung up on Thursday night on the off chance and got a room for Friday night. The bedroom was lovely and clean. As part of our offer there was an evening meal bed and breakfast and an afternoon tea. Cant go wrong. This is a great place and we must not leave it long before going back.

Spent two night at Grinkle Park, room was very spacious and well furnished, only down side was there was no mirror on the dressing table. Food was a good standard and staff worked to a high standard, drinks were a little bit expensive, location of the hotel was out of the way a little but the grounds made up the that. Good stay would stay again.
