Great price DDB for 2. Hotel is ideally located for access to shops and access to castle and gardens. We had a very nice suite and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel decor is very smart and the dining room is spectacular. Only slight downside is evening meal menu was limited choice. Breakfast was good, continental and buffet cooked. Would definitely recommend and will return soon.

standard room, nothing special but adequate, had a good nights sleep, a good walk in shower, staff and food were excellent, hotel is in a very good central location, Alnwick itself was very pleasant to walk around, would recommend an early start if planning to visit bamburgh castle which is spectacular.

This is a dog friendly hotel , and it didn’t disappoint . There were treats in the room when we arrived , he was fussed over by all members of staff who kept disappearing and coming back with chicken for him . At breakfast he was supposed to have 1 sausage on the house , but he actually had 6 as all staff kept fussing over him . Basically he was treated like royalty . Us humans had a great stay as well .

The hotel suited our needs ,the reception check in was quick and easy ,the room on the second floor ( no lift ) was small , warm clean and tidy ,excellent en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. The inclusive 2 course evening meal was ok . The prices for alcoholic drinks in the bar were extremely expensive at just over £28 for two large measures of wine , And breakfast was your usual hotel hot food counter with the normal fried items available . Staff commendations .They were all very helpful and pleasant ,The thing that stood out was staff member Louise who was very attentive and busy and a joy to chat to, she was always extremely busy , a welcoming face at reception then serving meals in the bar ,taking orders and also serving meals in the dining room , Car park situated to the rear of the hotel was ideal. We would certainly use the hotel again ,

Lovely hotel and very helpful staff. Arrived mid morning and we were able to use the car park and then take a short walk to Alnwick Gardens to enjoy the cherry tree walk. Booking in was easy and able to get times we wanted for dinner and breakfast in the fantastic panelled dining room, service efficient and good selection on menu. It is an old hotel but has all the modern comforts you could wish for and our suite at the front was lovely, it was single glazed but with the heavy weight curtains road noise was kept to a minimum. Great break and will visit again.

Slightly disappointed with our stay. Our room was in an annex building which ment outdoor clothes needed to go to meals, bar etc. Room a bit tired but clean and comfy. WiFi, in the room at least, was unusable as it never really connected for more than 30 seconds. Evening meal menu was bland and unexciting, my gammon steak was nothing more than a slab of fat and grizzle but after complaining I was given another which was much better. Staff were lovely and efficient, but sorry won't be rushing back.

We had a lovely stay. Our room was a garden room due to us having our dog with us. It was very handy having a grassed area so close at hand. The room was clean, had everything you would need ex there were no drawers. Even though this was not a major issue it would have been handy. Breakfast and meals were very good. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. They made us and our dog very welcome (lots of wee treats for our dog!!). The hotel is very central. We would definitely recommend.

The hotel ,food,staff,and location all great. The automatic imposition of the 10% gratuity is not! A tip is a personal choice and customers should not be made to feel obliged to give 10% of every bill.

Bed and pillows extremely hard, really bad nights sleep. Evening meal.. bread raw, not cooked right through, pork steak very over cooked, breakfast satisfactory. Girl on reception and young girl in restaurant very pleasant.

We had a great time at the White Swan. The room was a nice size clean and airy. The bathroom was great. The staff were outstanding, very professional, friendly and knowledgeable and we would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone wishing to visit Alnwick.
