My partner and I had a wonderful stay from start to finish. We stayed in a club room and loved all the attention to detail and wee extras like Ferrero rocher with the coffee pods etc. Also very pleased to see period products in the bathroom! Best was huge and super comfy. The only tiny criticism we could give was that we had no view and the floor boards were quite squeaky so you could hear people passing and I'm sure people could hear us too, but it didn't impact on our enjoyment. We had a 3 course dinner included in the rate and couldn't fault the food or service - absolutely lovely. The tails were super tasty too. All staff members we dealt with were friendly and professional. Overall, just thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Unfortunately i cant give this a positive score considering it was one of the most uncomfortable hotel stays i have experienced. The hotel itself is beautiful. The decor is great and the atmosphere is very relaxed. But the room... We decided to treat ourself and use a voucher we had from last xmas and buy the suite. £245 per night...a pretty extravagant price for one night but what the hell..lets try some luxury. The room itself is decorated well, the mezzanine floor being the bedroom is a stylish touch. But thats really all the positives. Upon entering the room we were hit with a wave of heat. Not cosy heat...25 degree heat. It was swelteringly warm. The radiators where up to level 5, the towel warmers where smoldering hot, ironically there were even warnings on all the taps saying to be careful because the water runs boiling from the off set. So essentially our first welcoming was rushing around opening all the windows and main door trying to get some air into the place. We found the AC unit on the mezzanine floor..which was an absolute curse. The AC unit and the control screen are inches away from the right hand side of the bed. These are both, as is normal, on a "hotel" mode to reduce the functions a guest has over the settings. Well this meant that the display screen is illuminating the whole room all into the night, you cant even turn the brightness down, we sat at 2am googling how to over ride the settings so there wasnt what was essentially a flashlight glaring in our eyes all night. The temperature was an issue the entire stay, we had all the radiators off, but for some reasons the room was just smoldering. There are roof windows you can open with switches however for some reason these (loudly) close automatically after about 15 to 20 minutes also stopping a nights sleep. We ultimately were laying there sweating, unable to sleep, uncomfortable, and decided to just use the ac, which loudly drones and blows air directly onto you because its so close to the bed, but was the lesser evil over the sauna that was this room. Then the silly things. Downstairs in the main area of the room there is a fancy Nescafe coffee pod machine. Milk, sugar? tea? couldnt find it. It wasnt until 2 am when my partner got up to take his water from the fridge he discovered the tea tray. The tray is jet black, with a jet black box with milk and tea sitting on it ,inside a cupboard which is black, with a black interior, on the bottom self right at the back behind a hairdryer... Why this isnt sitting downstairs beside the coffee, or even on the bed on arrival is beyond me. The bedroom area TV is mounted on a wall behind a small corner, mounted on an extendable bracket. Even extended though the person sleeping on the right hand side can barely see the tv? There are no plugs beside the bed, only usb ports so if you have usb-c cables you need to use your adapter on a plug far away from the bed. The mini fridge itself has drinks you can buy, but the complimentary water? for some reason not in the fridge,,its beside the bed and warm enough because of the room temp you could take a bath in it. Toothpaste also isnt supplied in the room, you get it from a vending machine in the lobby for an additional £2 for a tiny tiny tube, which at the time was out of stock and had to be requested at the main desk. Breakfast for us was included, which was standard fare of continental or cooked, but it was tasty. However, again, vastly overpriced if you have to pay for it. So the next day we left, sleep deprived, and roasting hot, i think my DNA has been permanently altered and will never know coolness again. Some people may not find these things much of an issue, but at an exorbitant £245 a night? you hardly expect such glaring issues and discomfort.

The hotel room was OK but was definitely not worth £251. There were dog hairs and fluf over the carpet, areas of the wall that had been filled and not sanded down, creaky stairs and no instructions for room temperature. There was also an overpriced “mini bar” with 2 cans of Malbec and some crisps. The room was also quite basic and dark with no kind of view so not sure where the price point of £251 comes from.

Lovely Hotel great customer service only small problem was I upgraded and was woken at 7am from the builders next door and the hotel was not at full capacity so I'm sure there was other rooms not facing the building site .. more attention to detail would have been appreciated for the price I paid.

Hotel was ok. Staff were nice and breakfast was good but the hotel is definitely not worth the £220 we paid for the room. The room was akin to a premier inn room and very overpriced. Can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon.

Had a great stay at this hotel, the rooms are clean and a decent size. The hotel has a lovely bar area and the restaurant does a lovely breakfast and has a good choice on the dinner menu. The hotel is in a good position for visitors, it is far enough from the city centre to be quiet but close enough to get to shops and tourist attractions, it's about a 10 minute walk to central station.
