We have stayed her now a couple of times and would definitely stay again. Great location only 10 minute walk from Waverly Bus Station, lovely modern decor, nice bathrooms and everything nice and clean. Great prices as well.

What a wonderful stay we had in The Cairn! It’s certainly worthy of the title ‘wee hidden gem’!!!!! That’s exactly what it is! Just round corner from Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre, and close to Princes Street and all the shops!!!! Lovely welcome from staff on reception and, indeed, all through the hotel. The room had plenty of space, was clean and looked newly decorated! Everything was exceptional for a small hotel, and much better that many 5 star hotels would have to offer!!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms here! The bathroom and room were very modern, with a large comfortable bed. Everything was spotless. The high ceilings of my room also made it feel less cramped. I didn’t try the food, however it is a short 10 minute downhill walk from Waverley station (and a slightly longer uphill one back!). If you happy with the location, I wouldn’t hesitate staying here.
