Cliffden Hotel, Teignmouth

Visited the hotel recently for a few days with my partner. The room was pleasant with a comfortable bed, although it would have been better if the mattresses had zipped together rather than just having been pushed together. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice available. The grounds were lovely and the location excellent.

Hotel full of character with good sized bedrooms, however had problem with the cleanliness of our room so was given another room which was better. Friendly staff. Breakfast adequate, evening meal very good.

My wife and I recently stayed for 2 nights at the Cliffden Hotel in Teignmouth. Overall the stay was quite pleasant. Our package included breakfast and evening meals for each day of our stay which was pretty good value. Whilst the quality of the food on offer was good, we were disappointed with the meal deal menu on offer as it was very limited, with only a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains, and 3 desserts. My wife did ask about the menu shown on the website but she was told this was not available to us as it wasn't available to anyone staying on a package deal. One thing which we did find off putting was dogs being allowed into the restaurant when breakfast and dinner was being served. Whilst we have no issue with guide dogs being allowed in (and there were at least 2 during our stay, which was totally fine), other dogs were also allowed in during meal times. Not everyone is a pet owner, so some consideration should be given to those guests who don't want to be sitting down to enjoy their meals with dogs at the surrounding tables waiting to pounce on the next piece of food to be either thrown to them, or inadvertently fall from a table.

Breakfast fine Accommodation is really 4-star standard very clean all round and the 7 acres of gardens are 5-star standard tranquillity in the middle of a very clean tidy resort Just needed a bit more sunshine.

Great weekend with several of our team staying at the Clifton. Probably be back next year. Good value, easy parking for whole of stay, lovely breakfast and super friendly staff. Lovely walk through the gardens to the beach.

Have stayed hear many times over the past 5 years but it is great to see the significant improvements in service across the hotel that have been achieved in the past year. In my opinion, it now represents very good value for money.

The hotel is in a good location, the gardens are lovely and lots of rooms have views of the sea. Teignmouth very friendly with lots of little shops and cafes including vegan. Hotel staff friendly and breakfast good
