Each room at this 4-star hotel in Edinburgh has been individually decorated to complement the classic Scottish-style charm of the hotel. A mix of classical meets contemporary; from high corniced ceilings to cosy rooms with coombed ceilings, we have a range of comfortable rooms for couples, singles and families alike.

Romantic Four Poster

Designed with romance in mind, the Four Poster rooms are the most popular and luxurious. All offer elegant canopied four-poster double beds complete with ensuite baths, high ceilings and flat-screen TVs. Perfect for any special occasion or a romantic weekend away.

Executive King

The stylish, more contemporary Executive rooms which have recently been refurbished add a hint of modern sophistication to the hotel. These rooms offer you a choice of either king or twin beds and are all equipped with ensuite baths to ensure a truly relaxing stay. Some of these rooms are located on the garden level and have easy access to the car park for those guests with heavy luggage. Ideal for couples or discerning business guests.

Standard Double

Each room has been tastefully decorated to complement the classical theme throughout the hotel. These rooms have a double bed. Some of these rooms are located on the top floor and have charming coombed ceilings, giving a cute and cosy feel. Please advise if you have difficulty with stairs as we have rooms on other levels of the hotel that may be more suitable. These rooms suit couples, single travellers or families.

Family Rooms

From the beautifully appointed Superior Green Tartan Family which is the largest guest room featuring a lovely 4-poster double bed, large bay window, high ceilings and an ornate fireplace to the smaller classic Family room.

Please note, in keeping with the distinctive period style of the building, the Kildonan Lodge Hotel does not have a lift. At the time of booking, if you have difficulty climbing stairs please let us know as a few of our rooms are located up two flights. There are also 4 basement rooms in the Kildonan Lodge Hotel.

Directions to Kildonan Lodge Hotel in Edinburgh

For guests arriving by car, we suggest you leave your car in the free private car park during your stay. The Kildonan Lodge hotel is on the main bus route for the following bus numbers: Lothian Buses 3, 7, 8, 29, 31, 37 and 49 Night Service: N37 First Bus: 62, 77, 93(south) which frequently stop outside the hotel to/from the city centre. Edinburgh’s public transport system is excellent, very affordable and easy to use.

Edinburgh International Airport is about 30 minutes away and Waverley Train Station and St Andrews Bus Station are only a short taxi ride away.
