The Tower Bar's impressive wood and glass bar was originally part of the Winter Gardens in Blackpool? A previous owner loved it so much he bought it and arranged to have it dismantled, transported from Lancashire to Cumbria, and rebuilt here at Storrs Hall!
AFTERNOON TEA
Storrs Hall has long been one of the most popular venues for afternoon tea in the Lake District. It's the ideal setting for this English favourite, which can be enjoyed in the relaxing atmosphere of the country house or on the lawns leading down to the lake.
Afternoon tea is served between 12.30pm and 5pm, and consists of a selection of mouth-watering sandwiches, savouries, scones and cakes. And perhaps you'd like to order a glass of fizz to complete this indulgent feast?

Directions to Storrs Hall Hotel in Windermere
By Road
From the South
Exit M6 at junction 36 and on the roundabout above filter left onto the A590 (Kendal).
Follow the dual carriageway to the roundabout (approx seven miles), take the first exit signposted B5284 Hawkshead Via Ferry.
Continue along the road for a few miles, through the village of Crook and past the golf club, then at the T-junction turn left and immediately right onto Longtail Hill.
At the bottom of the hill, at the T-junction, turn left onto the A592 (signposted NewbyBridge). Travel for one and a half miles and you will see Storrs Hall set back from the road on the right. The road bends sharply to the left at this point.
Please take care when making the right hand turn into the driveway.
From the North
Follow the M6 Southwards to Junction 36 (signposted A590 Kendal).
Then follow the directions above starting at number 2.
By Rail
The nearest railway station is at Windermere, which is serviced by a connecting train from the mainline station of Oxenholme. Windermere Station is situated approximately 5 miles from Storrs Hall. Local taxis are available at both stations.

- Take a trip on the historic Steam Yacht Gondola, in the care of the National Trust on Coniston Water, and perhaps visit John Ruskin's house ‘Brantwood’ in its idyllic setting.
- Take a round of golf at Windermere Golf Club and you'll be playing in a beautiful setting.
- Adrenaline junkies will love the Via Ferrata at Honister Slate Mine near Keswick.
- Admire the architecture at Sizergh Castle and Gardens near Kendal.
