The Kipling Room is inspired by the life and work of one of Cambridge University’s most famous Fellows; author and journalist Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936).
Perhaps best known as the writer of children’s classic The Jungle Book, Kipling also penned many poems and novels during his lifetime, solidifying himself as one of the city’s most famous sons and a prominent public figure in the earlier half of the 20th century.

Featuring sculptures dedicated to great astronomer William Hershel and planting inspired by his wife Mary, the garden is the ideal place to spend time with friends, a crossword, or a relaxing drink from The Folio Bar. The Observatory
Nestled in the corner of The Fellows Garden is The Observatory - a part-indoor-part-outdoor snug for relaxing, mingling, or the time-honoured practice of observing. Featuring a large open fire and patio heating, it’s a cosy space filled with fresh air.

The Observatory is the ideal space for private meetings, gatherings and regularly features inspiring events and activities. It’s also the perfect spot for watching the outside world with a state-of-the-art 55-inch LCD display and cinema sound for screening films, sport and live events.

The Sage of Cambridge
At The Sage of Cambridge the team are passionate about uplifting your day with great coffee, fresh and hearty dishes, inspired but not limited to the plant-based experiments. Guests and neighbours are encourage to make wiser inspiring lifestyle choices in a relaxed environment, perfect for working or catching up with friends. From freshly made paninis to tasty salads and indulging cakes and snacks, the Pastry Chef is dedicated to producing mouth-watering vegan, egg-free, gluten-free and sugar-free sweet treats that will leave guests pleasantly surprised and guilt-free.
