The Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club in Kirknewton, Edinburgh is impressively situated amongst 1,000 acres of beautiful parkland with spectacular views of Edinburgh Castle and the Forth Bridges. With all this glorious scenery it’s hard to believe Dalmahoy lies just 20 minutes from Edinburgh and 10 minutes from Edinburgh Airport.

The main house was built in the 1720s for George Dalrymple the youngest son of the Earl of Stair, over the years the Dalmahoy has since been developed extensively in close collaboration with historic building advisors to become the luxury country resort that stands today. In each of the 215 rooms and suites, discover the perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional elegance. CLASSIC DOUBLE
Stay in a bright Classic Double Room at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club. With a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom featuring a bath with shower over, they can be adapted with a rollaway bed and crib as required for families.

CLASSIC TWIN ROOM
The Classic Twin rooms boast more space with two double beds, catering for up to 4 guests. Some interconnecting rooms offer plenty of options for up to 8 guests. These flexible, large rooms are perfect for families or for groups of friends here to play golf or for a few nights of pampering.

These rooms also feature en-suite bathrooms with a bath and shower over.

DELUXE KING
Stay in a Deluxe King room with a king-size bed (rollaway and cribs available on request). Enjoy a luxurious space complete with all modern facilities and entertainment. PERIOD SUITE
Experience all the prestige of our traditional Manor House set in a Period Suite. It features a comfortable king-size bed, superb views, espresso coffee machines, bottled mineral water, robes & slippers.
Bursting with character and steeped in history, these rooms were part of the original manor house and retain a range of period features, including high ceilings and sash & case windows, with some even boasting an original fireplace – perfect for a special occasion.

JUNIOR TURRET SUITE
Stay in one of our unrivalled Junior Turret Suites, located in the corner turrets.
The Junior Turret Suite boasts a huge super king-size bed, a spacious corner seating area and a large bathroom with a separate shower and bath. Each suite has an espresso coffee machine, bottled mineral water as well as robes & slippers for your comfort. The suites are themed after famous Scottish whisky distilleries, with some artwork from the distillery featured within the room.

FULL TURRET SUITE
The impressive Turret Suites are quite something. Each boasts its own separate corner seating area, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main bedroom has a super king-size bed and a luxury bathroom featuring a corner bath and separate walk-in shower. The second bedroom has two queen-size beds and its own bathroom with shower over bath. Both rooms are connected via an internal door.

The rooms are modelled around Scotland’s famous whisky distilleries, in a nod to the country’s rich heritage. This, in combination with the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, makes a perfect choice for an authentic Scottish experience.

MORTON SUITE
Savour the luxurious atmosphere of the Morton Suite, once occupied by the Lord and Lady of our baronial manor.
The historic Suite boasts an elegantly decorated main bedroom, study space and separate sitting room with a sofa bed. There is an additional corner bathroom for the second room with superb views of the surrounding countryside. The large king-size bed, espresso coffee machine & evening turndown service add to its sense of prestige.

ACCESSIBLE ROOMS
We have fully and partially accessible rooms available. Fully accessible rooms have roll-in showers and a low-level sink in the bathroom. All accessible rooms have lower height spy-holes, wide door access, grab handles and emergency pull cords. Accessible rooms are available in both twin or double, with inter-connecting rooms available for family or carers.

Overlooking our championship golf course and with views over to Edinburgh Castle, The Pentland Restaurant at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club really is something special. Whether starting the day with breakfast or indulging in a selection of divine dishes for dinner, The Pentland Restaurant is the perfect spot for Scottish cuisine. It unfolds across elegantly furnished indoor, outdoor and private dining areas.

THE BRASSERIE
The Brasserie is a haven for relaxed food and drink. Natural daylight floods through huge windows, revealing beautiful views over the grounds. It’s a great space to have a coffee, a spot for lunch or a bite to eat in the evening.

There’s a wide selection on the menu, from grilled meats and pasta dishes to fresh juices and smoothies. Whether indulging in a spot of golf, visiting the wellness centre or simply taking in the views, there’s something to satisfy every taste.

The Brasserie is the perfect place for families to dine together in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. There is a kids menu for the younger ones and the main menu has plenty of options for fussy teenage taste buds, from pizza & pasta to burgers, sandwiches and salads.

GENTLEMAN’S AFTERNOON TEA
Already proving very popular, the new Gentlemen’s afternoon tea is perfect as a gift for the man in your life or for groups to enjoy after a round of golf. A twist on a traditional afternoon tea, with gourmet sausage rolls, mini pork pies and delicious Scottish cheese & chutney. Add a bottle of craft beer or a single malt whisky to round off a luxury treat.

COCKTAIL BAR
The cocktail bar is located in the original manor house building and oozes history, heritage and tradition. Comfortable leather sofas, roaring wood-burning fires and magnificent views make this a relaxing place to unwind and enjoy some fabulous food & drinks.

The bar is fully stocked with some of the finest beers, wines and spirits including some very fine single-malt whiskies. The experienced bar staff are on hand to recommend whiskies for every palette.

Retreat to Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club, a luxury hideaway, just seven miles from Edinburgh’s city centre.

The air-conditioned gym has the latest TechnoGym weight machines and StarTrac cardio equipment including treadmills, cross trainers, step machines, rowing machines and fitness bikes. Cardio machines have built-in TVs as well as iPod docks and headphone jacks. There is a free weights area with views out across the hotel grounds and to the Pentland hills beyond.

Opposite the gym is the fitness studio where there are a variety of classes on offer. From Spinning and Zumba to Yoga and Pilates, there is something to suit everyone no matter what level of fitness or ability. 

The hotel swimming pool is 18m in length and enjoys natural light streaming through the large windows at one end. There are loungers around the outside to simply watch the world go by or to relax and read. Beside the pool is a sauna and steam room, where you can go and relax to soothe away the aches, pains and stress. Outside there is a jogging trail and also two floodlit tennis courts. Tennis racquets and balls can be hired from reception.

Beauty Essentials Salon, located within the Leisure Club, offers a range of luxury beauty treatments including relaxing massages, soothing facials, nail treatments, spray tanning, waxing and more…

Location & Directions

Directions to Dalmahoy Hotel in Edinburgh

Conveniently located just 4 miles from Edinburgh Airport and 8 miles from Edinburgh City Centre. 

From Airport:
Exit airport. Join A8 heading East towards Edinburgh. At the roundabout take the exit for City Bypass and exit at the first junction keeping in the left-hand lane. Follow directions for A71 to Kilmarnock. The hotel is 2 miles along on the left-hand side.

The estimated taxi fare is £15 GBP (one way)

Driving Directions from Glasgow & the West:
Take the M8 for Edinburgh and stay on all the way to the roundabout at the end, taking the exit for City Bypass. Keep in the left-hand lane and follow directions for A71 Kilmarnock. At the top of the hill, take the 3rd exit signposted A71 and the Hotel is 2 miles along the A71 on the left-hand side.

Driving Directions from the North:
Coming over the Forth Bridge on the M90 or from Stirling on the M9, join the M8 for Edinburgh and follow the directions above.

Nearest Bus Station
St Andrews Square, Edinburgh (8.8 miles)
From here walk to Princes Street and take the First Bus (service 28) which stops outside the Hotel entrance. Walk up the driveway and follow the road signs to the Hotel reception.

Nearest Train & Tram Station
Edinburgh Park Station (4 miles)
There is no public transport from here to the hotel, therefore guests should take a taxi from outside the station.

Shuttle Service ( currently unavailable due to Covid restrictions )
As of 1st April 2019, we are trialling a Shuttle Bus service for hotel guests. The free Shuttle Bus service will run to and from Edinburgh Park Station and guests can then catch a train to Edinburgh or Glasgow or hop on a tram into Edinburgh city centre or to the Airport. Onward journeys will be at the guests’ own expense.

Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, has recently undergone a £1.6million refurbishment of its bedrooms, part of a two-year £2M upgrade of the resort.

The hotel restaurant can be busy especially at weekends. In order to receive a dinner time that suits we advise that you contact the hotel directly after booking to book your Dinner time.
