The Damson Dene Hotel in Crosthwaite is quietly tucked away in the tranquil Lyth Valley. The hotel takes its name from the famous damson orchards of the area. In a good year, the profusion of white damson blossom in the spring attracts much attention making the annual Damson Day festival even more of a pull.
If you are looking to get out and explore the area this 3-star hotel in the Lake District is only 15 minutes away from the bustle of Bowness and Lake Windermere.
The Damson Dene Hotel has 40 ensuite bedrooms, including 7 with four poster beds and an ensuite Jacuzzi bath. There are also three delightful family suites located on the grounds of the hotel. Each bedroom enjoys spectacular views over the Cumbrian Countryside and the hotel's beautiful gardens.
Dining at the Damson Dene is a real pleasure with the setting as good as the dishes on offer. The menu changes daily and offers a wide choice. Locally grown fresh, seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs are used whenever possible. Much of it is supplied from owner Jonathan Denby’s Victorian kitchen garden at Yewbarrow House.
All hotel guests at the Damson Dene have free, unlimited use of the hotel's leisure facilities during their stay. As well as a swimming pool, small gym and sauna, a great selection of beauty treatments are also available.

Directions to Damson Dene Hotel in Bowness on Windermere
The Damson Dene Hotel is about 15 minutes drive from Junction 36 of the M6. After leaving the motorway, follow the A590 signposted to Barrow in Furness. After about 5 miles, turn right onto the A5074 signposted to Bowness and Windermere. Keep on that road for 5 miles (without turning into the village of Crosthwaite) and you will see Damson Dene on your right.

Swimming lessons take place between 11am-12 noon Tuesdays and Fridays. During this period the pool will not be available to guest, except during school holidays when guests will be able to use the pool.
