Fernhill Hotel offers excellent central base from which to enjoy golf packages on many superb local courses and is in fact only a 100 yards from Portpatrick (Dunskey) golf course.
There's lots to do in and around Portpatrick. Stroll around the picture postcard village and visit the local craft shops or simply watch the boats in the harbour. Have a round of golf just across the road at Dunskey Golf Club, or at Creachmore in Stranraer.
Walk a few miles north along the headland on the Southern Upland Way and admire the lighthouse and the beach at Kilantringan - there's even a shipwreck to see. Or head south to visit the cliff top ruins of Dunskey Castle. Nearby, there are beautiful gardens to explore at Logan, Dunskey House, Castle Kennedy and Glenwhan.
