Great short break. Room cosy and comfortable. All staff very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our meals and the standard of food was very high. Great location, easy and pleasant walks around the Dumfries House estate grounds. We will definitely return in the summer months so we can enjoy the gardens when they are in full bloom!

From our arrival we were made to feel at home by the staff. Rooms well kitted out, good shower. Public lounges very comfortable, dining option good, breakfast good. Wine and drink selection fairly priced. Would recommend, the tour of the big Hoose really interesting

A lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The bathroom and bedroom were excellent. The only problem was the room was very warm and we had to open the window as we couldn't turn the heating down. The menu choice was limited, but the food was excellent, and the service from the staff could not be more helpful and friendly. I would happily stay again.

Very nice lodges, lovely room and bathroom. Toiletries were very high quality. All staff members were so friendly and helpful. Evening meal was lovely. Could have done with more butter portions at breakfast, two small pats not enough. Tour of the house very interesting. Package very good value.

Lovely stay here, very impressed with lodge, rooms and food. Staff were all excellent and very attentive. Gorgeous gardens and house, taster tour of Dumfries House was really worthwhile too

A lovely wee break at Dumfries House Lodges and it's worth a visit. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food and drink are reasonably priced. I would definitely go back. A tour of the house is a must as it's very interesting place to visit.

A beautiful hotel within lovely grounds. Very friendly and attentive staff. The room was compact but had all the facilities we needed. We did not manage to tame the effective underfloor heating so had a hotter night than expected. The restaurant food and service weee top notch. Although the menu choices were limited the quality was superb.

A most enjoyable break. Bed was comfortable, piping , good shower. Decor was very much country house style. We had both dinner and breakfast, food presentation was excellent as well as tasting good. Staff were all very helpful and friendly

Staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. Food was fabulous. Bedroom was beautiful with lots of wee added extras. Only complaint was the shower. No . Went to have shower before dinner and only luke warm. Member of staff checked it and couldn’t increase heat. Was offered alternative room but declined, as only there for 1night, unpacked, robe on ready for shower. Water temperature fixed by morning and got a lovely complimentary bottle of wine. The lodge was beautiful and the tour of the house was wonderful.

What a truly fantastic stay.The Lodge is enchanting, rooms beautifully decorated and comfortable. Staff are all very attentive and just want to ensure your stay is splendid. Meals are well presented, local and really tasty. Added bonus..a quick trip round Dumfries House..fantastic. Definately will stay again. 5 stars is not enough.

We have just left the loveliest night and day spent at Dumfries Lodge, mooching around the beautiful grounds of the House and other attractions that are on offer to explore! Wow. What a place. And what a bunch of great friendly people…. We were so looked after by the lovely team from Helen who looked after our booking (even when I booked the wrong night ?????) to Megan who served us at Dinner and Breakfast TO Andrea who checked us out and was oh so helpful arranging transport for us to our next destination of our Scottish adventure (Not to forget the Chef)!! The food was delicious, the accommodation was perfectly cosy and the Whiskey was yummy (check out the Lost Distillery). Thank you all so much a very needed little get away!!

Stayed here in room 3 for our Wedding Anniversary and loved every minute. The lodge is beautifully decorated throughout. I particularly loved the cosy sitting room. Our room was beautiful and the bathroom fabulous. The décor and furnishing were that of a luxurious country house. The staff were lovely, so friendly and helpful, especially Helen who could not have made our stay any more enjoyable. We had a Sunday roast lunch in The Woodlands restaurant and everything was delicious and beautifully presented, again the staff were delightful. We had the best of times here and look forward to returning.

Very comfortable, home from home, with individually designed bedrooms. Staff were extremely helpful, managed to obtain early access our rooms. Welcoming log fire in the Drawing Room, with a malt whisky, only thing missing was my dog at my feet (probably on the sofa). Good choices for breakfast, although they started to clear away fruit, juices & some cereals 20 minutes before serving of breakfast ended. Overall I would highly recommend Dumfries Lodge and look forward to a return visit

What a wonderful place! The room was well-designed, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, the breakfast was excellent and the service was friendly yet professional, punctual and courteous. We really couldn't find a single thing that we weren't completely happy with, and any time we are back in the area we would not hesitate to book again. We had a nice welcome (luckily some other guests pointed out where to go as there were no signs) and our room was warm and welcoming. The bathroom fittings were 'interesting' - unsure if original Thomas Crapper refurbished or very good reproductions! I found the bed very comfortable and had a good nights sleep. Also we welcomed the tea/coffee tray, with delicious shortbread, for early morning. We had tea and biscuits in one of the two lounges after returning from a walk. We took advantage of being able to have dinner on the premises as I do not think there were any alternatives anywhere near. The two members of staff in charge of the restaurant were enthusiastic and helpful. The dinner was OK, the house wine mediocre, but our views are no doubt coloured by my husband's career. Because of the 5* rating, and a captive market, a more imaginative approach to the menu choice would help, together with a much higher quality house wine

We stayed 3 nights and cannot praise the lodge too much. The rooms were first class- warm, beautifully furnished and had all the touches you find in top class establishments. The staff were outstanding with a lovely manner. We enjoyed the sitting room in the lodge where you could relax with a drink in front of a roaring fire. The tour of The House was exceptional with a very knowledgeable guide. Woodlands Restaurant again first class as was the Cafe. Walking round the grounds another good experience. Don't miss a visit to Dumfries House and Lodge
