Amazing stay, lovely hotel and room. Good food, even on a deal, the hotel could not have been any better. Will be back.

Weather wise it was a cold day outside but on entering the large lovely reception area we expected to feel the warmth, but it was cold on entering the hotel, with only a small plug in heater to be seen. Room was cold also and radiator and hot towel rail did not work, obviously why we had 2 plug in heaters.in our room. Was chilly on entering dining room also. We went on 2 nights b&b with dinner on the first night. Breakfast was lovely, plenty to choose from. At dinner 3 of us choose fish and chips which had a £8 charge for each, a bit steep. Windows were running with water, needs double glazed, might be a bit warmer with them. Unsure if we would return during the winter months because of heating. Young staff were all very pleasant.

Great stay in the Campsie Fell room which was very spacious and comfortable. Amazing power shower! The decor throughout is lovely and both breakfast and dinner were of a high quality. Will definitely return as the Inn is a great base for lots of lovely walks. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, room was cosy and clean. Comfy bed, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. Didn’t have much of a view unfortunately. Staf very friendly. Ate both nights in the bar which was nice although food bit hit and miss. Macaroni cheese was more like plain pasta with a bit of cheese on top, no sauce at all, cauliflower fritters were overdone. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice.

The hotel and staff were fantastic throughout our stay. The room was clean and tidy. Only complaint was you could use a non slip mat in the bath

Can't fault staff, very friendly, rooms clean, and modern, the only issue we cane across which kind of spoilt our experiences, was that the DBB deal was found to be a problem, very little on offer, but we were aghast we had to pay an additional supplement of £8 for fish and chips, or £4 50 additional for a basic burger. Wife had fish pasta which was tasteless, no seasoning, e to it. Had to score poor for food, due to our experience we come across. We dont mind paying supplements for premium food like steaks but never in our time come across this before

We had a great stay at the Kirkhouse Inn. Lovely hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice, spotlessly clean. We were on DBB deal which was great value, however there were supplements on quite a few of the dishes on the menu. There was an £8 supplement on fish and chips and £6.50 on a burger which I thought was quite excessive. That said, the food was lovely, and breakfast was good too. I would say you would stay at this hotel as a base for exploring the area. We went to Aberfoyle which is lovely and is about sixteen miles away. All in all, we had a lovely stay and would recommend the hotel.

Really disappointed with this hotel. No toilet paper in our room and only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for double room. Staff in the restaurant and bar were lovely however we were asked to settle a bill for drinks when we were leaving the next morning. This was not our bill and had a receipt for the drinks we had bought at the same time and paid for at the time as we were told we couldn’t charge to our room. The manager was rude and said I’ll just need to write it off then. No apology. Would not return to this hotel

Honestly one of the best hotel stays we have had. From start to finish it was just perfect. Room was spotless and an extra touch with the record player in another small room with a chair. Was very nice. All the staff were just all so lovely and friendly. Mark especially and he made the best tail which went down a treat. And the food just excellent with big portions and the breakfast was freshly cooked. Already set to book our next stay. We took our dog and he was treated well too from bowls of water to treats that we could help ourselves. We stay in a lot of hotels and this is by far the best one yet.

This was our 4th or 5th stay and on this occasion we had a comfortable suite with a seating area and TV in addition to a TV in the bedroom area thougfortunately the TV reception was poor throughout our stay. The bathroom was a very good size and it was nice having a bath plus plenty of storage space in the bedroom cupboards. Nice restaurant area though we only used it once for breakfast and dinner. Plenty of parking at the hotel. Good location for visiting Loch Lomond and taking a boat trip and also easy to take a day trip to Edinburgh from Milngavie by rail though no direct trains back in the evening so have to go via Glasgow. Easy parking in Milngavie Station Car Park if go early. Lovely walks at Mugdock Country Park nearby and around the local reservoirs.

First night walking the West Highland Way..I had to catch a bus there from the trail which was no problem and well worth it. Had a lovely menu in the evening and spent the night in a very comfortable room with a bath. The staff were all, polite, efficient and helpful.

Lovely stay, great staff and wonderful food. We booked the deal with the six course tasting menu and it was stunning, lovely breakfast in the morning too. Lounge/bar was really nice. Room was large, spotlessly clean and comfortable, style was a little dated but my wife and I would absolutely return.

We opted for the overnight break with the 6 course taster menu by Sanja. There's plenty of parking, the reception is very welcoming, and the bar area is nice with a good selection of beer. Our room was nice although being at the side of the hotel facing the main road was a little noisy. The bathroom was very large and had nice toiletries. The food at Sanja was the highlight. It was, simply, excellent. The range of tastes and flavours was amazing. We'd wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant, and to imise enjoyment, also a stay at Kirkhouse Inn.

In general the hotel was great. The food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our accommodation was both spacious and comfortable and had the bonus of a bathtub as well as a shower. I was overcharged initially at reception but this was quickly rectified after I pointed this out. I suppose our only disappointment was when we had a drink in the bar. Both Saturday and Sunday nights were quite rowdy with lots of shouting and very bad language in evidence. There were both women and children in attendance and it was very uncomfortable to hear the loud swearing being used without any of the hotel staff taking any action to stop it. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay there again.

Lounge area very nice but sadly bedrooms needing some TLC. Was a bit concerned no fire escape map in room in case of emergency. Staff were ok but felt a bit disorganised. Not a hotel we will be returning to.

We had a lovely stay at the Kirkhouse Inn ,staff were very happy and attentive, food was good and it was so nice to have a freshly made breakfast and not a buffet. The room was very clean and comfortable maybe slightly tired ,but still good, we do hope to come back. I did pop my head into another room and it was very nice so I do think that it is work in progress.

We spent 2 nights at the Inn the room was great and the staff were absolutely great , the food was great but we felt there wasn’t a lot to do in the village we enjoy walking but there wasn’t enough locations there as most of the walks were out of our capability, as it meant driving to the area then walking.

Stayed for a night to celebrate our anniversary. As the weather was great we started our stay by having drinks and lunch outside. The Open Sandwiches were fabulous . Our room was No.15 and was very good , lots of room and very clean . We had booked dinner at the new Indian Restaurant in the hotel and have to say it was the best "Tasting Menu" we have ever had .6 courses and every one outstanding. The service in the restaurant was the best . Breakfast in the morning was very good , with all the usual suspects available. Overall , a brilliant overnight and we will certainly be back to do it all over again.

The Sagaar restaurant was absolutely fantastic and the chef was robbed when he didn't win Masterchef! The taster menu was amazing from start to finish. Surely a Michelin star is in the post! The hotel itself is fine - a lot of young kids working there which is great to see and am sure they will become more customer centric through experience. Breakfast was decent - apart from hard bolied poached eggs ? - but overall recomm!
