Staff were really nice one type of white wine , no , had to change room as no water coming out of hot tap. Second room had sweeties and nail clippings on the floor, dirty dishes on the radiator outside room all weekend. Food was good, I’ve had such poor hotels with my hotel break recently I’ve cancelled the next break yesterday.

We checked into the hotel and a young person, he did not identify himself, gave us the room key told us where to find the room. No welcome and did not check payment details. The room is a walk through the bar, through the restaurant, a porch area and then you find the room. The room itself was gloomy but did look like it had been refurbished in the past few years. The cleanliness was appalling, the ceiling light was full of dead flies and other bugs. The wall under the tea and coffee station was stained with tea and coffee. The surfaces were covered in dust, as were the table legs. The shower in the bathroom had dirt on the shower screen and had not been cleaned in a while. The glasses in the bathroom still had water in them from the previous guests. I got the impression that the staff forgot they were there for the benefit of paying guests and not themselves. The Management need to provide training and ensure al of the staff are presentable. Breakfast the following morning was OK except the staff shouting across the dining room to each other. I went to check out and was asked if we enjoyed our stay and was told I had nothing to pay. I asked if he was sure as I knew I had a balance to pay as had used MyHotel Break vouchers as part payment. We we were not asked for payment details on arrival. He then check and said 'oh yes you do'. If I had not mentioned this how was the hotel going to obtain the payment. I then passed on my comments regarding the housekeeping and lack of cleanliness, who knows if the comments will be addressed. Going by the previous reviews it would seem unlikely. I asked how I can provide feedback and was given a card with an e-mail address to send my feedback and this would be sent onto the General Manager. I would encourage anyone looking to stay in this hotel to find somewhere else, I know I would never return here.

Room 214. The view was awful. We faced a back run down part of the building and a huge tree covered the side. Every step on floor creaked. There was a large step between the room and bathroom and if you didn't remember to lift your feet you could have had a nasty accident. Especially during the night. Our deal said we could have a free upgrade but was told the hotel was full. On the upside, the room was clean and the food in restaurant was very good.

We had an enjoyable short break but opted for a standard room instead of a superior room. The room was in need of much needed upgrade and located on the main corridor which geneerated more noise.Staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel caters for coach tours and this adds to the atmosphere. Therefore, I would suggest checking with staff for the quieter meal times if you want a faster table service as the restaurant can be busy at peak times.

The hotel was reasonable value. I do not know why a £30 charge was added on in dealing through Hotel Break. It would have been cheaper to deal direct with the hotel

Thank you for your feedback. On the Gift For two voucher used during your stay, some weekend and peak season supplements do apply. There are many other dates and options available on the voucher without supplements.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at Craiglynne. There have been considerable improvements to the hotel since our last visit. The common areas have been given a significant upgrading and we were given to understand that there was a programme of improvements planned for the bedrooms. Staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful throughout the hotel. There was a somewhat restricted menu and while the food was tasty and well cooked, we would not have wished to have had a longer stay. Would we go back - certainly. Would we recommend the hotel - yes, but with our comments re length of stay. Finally it offered good value.

The hotel was lovely. Staff were friendly I think we had the smallest room in the hotel. No out look from the window. The window would not open. Could not put the chair at dressing table as there was no room to pass. Only had one bedside table.

Food was good, room clean and beds comfortable but decor bit tired. Shower over bath only ran either very very hot (too hot) or cold, seriously need replaced only time I have ever paid to stay somewhere and not been able to have a shower. There was a bath but I don’t like baths (would not book a room with no shower) would not return.

the offer on with the hotel was free upgrade to a refurbished room the room was fine but it was at the back of the hotel with a view of the kitchen window and the staff accommodation When we looked at the other rooms it was quite correct it was an upgraded room ,The breakfast was fine but the evening meal was not so good and not worth nearly £40.00 for two fish and chips main courses .The special offer price we paid was probably what the stay was worth we would not have been pleased to have paid a higher price ,that said the staff are all first class and nothing is too much trouble

Would have liked more plain & normal food options for the starter, main meal for the evening dinner, more in line with a 3 star hotel with more affordable prices. Also the pie of the day wasn’t available on any of our 3 evenings there which was really disappointing

Enjoyable stay. Room was fine apart from squeaking floorboards but only to be expected as older hotel. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Food was okay but small portions. Would go back again.

The hotel was ok but I found it astonishing how a scottish hotel decked in tartan and everything else our country has to offer does not sell any Scottish beer. Apart from my own complaint I heard several American guests asking the same question??

Had a lovely two night stay. Staff were helpful and took time to chat. Food was tasty. Second night was very busy 3 tour buses and a group of motor cycles which made for a very noisy dinner. Parts of the hotel needing a bit of tlc but on the whole good break.

Just returned from a short break at this hotel. It was very good value and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The public areas were comfortable and cosy. The food was excellent and very tasty. Our bedroom was comfortable and spacious with plenty of drawers and hanging space. It would have been nice to have the biscuits replenished on the tea tray
