The most beautiful hotel in the most beautiful spot… gorgeous walks along by the golf course and the rivet Tweed, it’s about 3 miles to the wonderful town of Peebles in one direction and similar distance to Innerleithen in the other direction. Macdonald Cardrona have really friendly staff, special mention to Michael on reception… The food was fantastic, we got a DBB deal with bottle of Prosecco in the room (£30 each towards evening meal), the deal was worth every penny! We will look for this deal again :) Thank you!

We stayed for a couple of nights at the Cardrona recently. Had a golf view room for the first time which as a golfer was very good. We did have a few issues with the curtains in the room and with our bottles of Prosecco This was eventually resolved after a few nudges in the right direction.

The stay was lovely and relaxing all staff friendly and helpful. The only things were that the rooms though comfy were starting to look a bit tired and as we had a later breakfast things had run out and had to ask for a few things to be replenished. The hotel is in lovely settings and a nice walk nearby sp would recommend

Our stay was very pleasent by the time we found the hotel it was much later than we expected so checked in then straight for dinner food was good slept well, Breakfast was nice not a lot on the buffet section

Had a fantastic dinner bed and breakfast stay at the Cardrona, The check in was fast and smooth with a very cheerful receptionist. Our room was overlooking the golf course and was spotless and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Our evening meal was amazing and we were quite impressed with the service. Drinks were quite expensive though, so the prosecco we had in the room, as part of the deal, was welcomed. Breakfast was very good and plenty of choice. Really happy with our break and looking forward to returning quite soon. All staff were professional and friendly and made us feel valued.

Spacious and very well equipped room . Excellent bath and shower. Pleasant dinner efficiently served and well presented. Good choice too at breakfast. Friendly welcome from courteous staff. Overall a very good experience . Our fourth stay at this hotel which we very much like. Surrounding area is stunningly beautiful. Just wish the Scottish government would repair the multitude of potholes in the roads!

Check in was quick but on getting the room it was dusty, lampshade all bashed in and carpet dirty Reported to receptionist who was great, did offer another room but when checking it it was even worse with a stained sofa. Kept the original room and the reception staff were very apologetic. Dinner was just ok. Had a burnt smell Breakfast was quite poor also. Extremely small portions All in all the only good thing was the staff who were amazing

Friendly staff, nice location, decent food and good facilities. Service in restaurant is better now and reception are very pleasant. Rooms a bit dated -could do with upgrading tvs.

Lovely stay at this hotel, room was great looking out into golf course, dog friendly which is always a bonus, service, food was perfect, the only criticism I have is being charged £14.75 for a corona & a glass of rose, needless to say I only had the one glass of wine at these prices ????

Lovely hotel, very friendly accommodating staff Rooms were lovely they changed our room to a nice view with no hassle Beds really comfortable rooms very clean Spa - consists of massage therapy etc pool steam room and sauna were great but there's no jacuzzi Meal in the restaurant was mediocre and bkand and really overpriced. I had to send meal back as it wasn't pleasant gravy watery, beef tough and pastry not fully cooked all way through The breakfast on the other hand was good and plentiful, coffee bland and service slow but lovely service from staff

We enjoyed our 1st trip to Peebles and the Cardona hotel. It was very quiet due to the time of year however the service, food and staff made it a pleasant stay. The only downside was that there was no keg beer! For whatever reason? We would still go back.

The room was very old and grubby with stains on the radiator and black mould in bathroom, upholstery staples sticking out of chair and threadbare arm rests on chairs which were very dirty. Bathroom had cracked floor tiles and dirty. Upon complaining to manager we were moved to another room which still had small issues but were more acceptable.

Beautiful rooms with views over the golf course Nice breakfast only problem was confusion with fire alarm going off People arriving at reception in night clothes to be told it was a false alarm There was no direction given and some foreign guests were left not being advised as to what was happening

We really enjoyed our 2 night break at Cardrona. We were upgraded to a deluxe room by Tom, as it was our anniversary. It had patio doors out to a little sitting area so was perfect. Our room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable but decor is a bit dated. Lovely Elemis products in bathroom. Food was delicious and well presented. Sometimes the service was slow but we were on holiday so in no rush. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Only negative comment I would make was the young staff serving the tables would benefit from some training. e.g. our wine was placed on our table with no offer to open it or allow us to taste it.

Had an overnight stay with my friend on Saturday 29/1. Reception staff were friendly and the check in process was well managed and all done within 5 minutes. We stayed in a standard room beside the Spa which was spacious and had tea coffee and biscuits and Iron and iron board. This was part of a deal at £59.50 and included a bottle of Prosecco. Would definitely go back again as staff and service was excellent from start to finish and great value for money. I can also recommend Francos Italian restaurant at the end of the high street.

Lovely hotel, great facilities and good-sized rooms. We got room service one evening and they were super small portions so wasn't great. The food otherwise was good. The best thing about this hotel though is the the staff. So incredibly helpful, friendly and they couldn't do enough for you. We would definitely return.

We were very pleased with our stay the room was fantastic and would stay again. I know this is a very difficult time with Covid but they handled everything to the rules. Would like to go back in the summer time as the country side looked lovely.
