Hotel was clean , we booked Dinner bed and breakfast break, on check in we were told the restuarant was closed and would we be ok to eat our meal in the lounge. This seemed ok until we went down for dinner to a small lounge and was given a menu which had a limited number of small plates. We did not class this as dinner. On approaching the reception, they apologised and offered 25.00 per person a refund. We took this as given and went out to a lovely local italian restuarant. Breakfast the next day was served in the restuarant, we could not fault this. On checkout I asked again whether the refund had been made to my card, I was assured that it had already been done. I had already checked my bank , but it hadn't shown in my account at that stage. On checking my account a day later a refund was only made for £30. I tried to contact the hotel on numerous occasions but was unable to get through to anyone. Apart from that , the hotel is central for everything and is in a great location

Although getting to the hotel in a car is challenging, it is worth it to get the very central location. Reception staff were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent. A bit noisy at night as our room was over the nightclub but not enough to keep us awake.

The Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel is our first choice of hotel when staying in Chester. The rooms along with the staff were fantastic. Location was superb and the food was just brilliant. We would not hesitate to stay or recommend anyone to stay here.

Perfect for visiting Chester, comfortable rooms great breakfast and evening meal the staff were friendly and helpful, would stay again,
