Yes We booked this hotel But My Hotel Break called the next day to cancel our booking We booked this hotel on the website in good faith But we were informed the booking would not be honoured as they had made a mistake in the price We were not offered an alternative or any compensation for their mistake Very disappointed

Hotel was very busy on the night we stayed. We checked in at 3pm as this was the time we were told check in was from, only to be told that the restaurant was booked up till 9pm and thay could fit us in at 9.15 ...which I think is a bit late !!! Restaurant is not big enough for the size of the hotel to the point that they were setting up tables in the bar area . Would not return to this hotel, but on the plus side the young girl behind the bar who I think was called Emma was very helpful during our stay

Fantastic hotel with lovely friendly staff and beautiful rooms. Food tastes great , drink was very over priced . The restaurant has lovely views , however the temperature of the room was ridiculously hot which made it very uncomfortable to enjoy our evening meal and breakfast. We also had free use of the spa during our stay , due to the lack of loungers and space and to the amount of people they allowed in this wasn't possible . Very disappointing !

Great hotel, lovely surroundings. Receptions staff very friendly, rooms were clean and fairly large in size. We had a dog with us so were advised we would be on the ground floor which was much easier for us. Massive bed - very comfortable! Tea and coffee making facil provided in the room and a large bottle of water. We had breakfast 2 mornings and dinner 1 evening - breakfast cooked to order and a cold buffet with cereals, yoghurt, fruits, juices etc. Dinner was excellent, every course was amazing. Staff were very good in the restaurant- attentive and friendly. Nice to see local people working in the hotel as they could give advice on what to see and do in the area, Will definitely return soon.

this is a wonderful venue to stay good food at dinner but small portions breakfast is excellent most of the staff are excellent and most helpful i had to complain about a girl serving in the bar area who was undertrained and had a bad attitude problem apart from that and the fact when i book in i always pay my bill up front yet without fail when i book out they try to charge me for something extra and i feel guilty of something and have to argue my case as they think at reception they are always right which i am afraid they are not and not even an apology when i point out their mistake in their billing system the golf course is good the gym and pool are good and i will continue to stay there as i have many times i just wish they would get their act together and get rid of a few bad apples which spoil a customers stay nothing worse than booking out after a nice stay and have to argue about being overcharged as usual apart from that try this lovely venue it just takes one bad incompetent staff member to spoil a guests stay so mcdonalds check out my comments

Lovely stay. Well appointed bedroom with good quality toiletries. Had lovely meal in restaurant and breakfast cooked to order. Staff very attentive and helpful. Used pool in morning. Although there was a function on in the hotel, there was no noise. Will be back.

Tried to leave comment but it disappeared so here goes again. Great offer and best one with myhotelbreak.com though they seemed to be having a problem receiving these booking and we had a wee wait - to be fair we were a little before 3pm check in. We waited until it was resolved and receptionist very kindly upgraded our room and apologised for wait. We were bit tired and keen to take up the cream tea offer through your site. We waited and waited for it to arrive - it wasn't at all busy in the reception area and two female who sat down after us had their sandwiches delivered no problem. I had to ask twice for the cream tea to be delivered and made it clear I wasn't impressed. The suited female I presume was in charge of the small group of staff standing didn't seem duly botheredbut said she'd find out. Her answer the second time was oh there's Rachel with it now - not at all how I would have spoken to a customer who had had to ask twice for teas and scones. Once the scones and teas were done Rachel delivered two pots of boiling water and two satchets of herbal tea - peppermint and green tea - I think she said there you are. Seriously? My husband didn't like either and we sort of drunk it in stunned silence. Can I say I wouldn't say nothing the next time but had no confidence in that manager managing it well or as it should have been. Now something positive. The service at dinner was second to none with all the waiters being friendly and helpful and the head person as fabulous as we remembered on previous visits. The meal was mouth wateringly good as we remembered it on previous occasions and the room was fab.. the yapping dog the only minus and it didn't go on too late. Love Cardrona and will be back.

A return visit as we had enjoyed our stay there before so much. Another excellent room which was clean and comfortable. The main difference was that the hotel was so busy with coach parties and many other guests and the staff seemed to be overwhelmed by the extra numbers especially at breakfast when the service was very slow. It was still a good, varied breakfast.

The bedroom and swimming pool were both excellent. The public room and dining room were far too small. Dinner was booked for the earliest available, at 9pm and we still had to wait a long time between courses. Breakfast was even worse with trestle tables erected in the small seating area to accommodate the numbers. We deliberately left our breakfast till towards the end of the period and very little was left on the Continental side. The golf course was in a poor condition with a lot of bunkers G U R , burnt greens etc. This was a great disappointment from two years ago.

Lovely stay here at the Cardrona, staying on a DBB basis. Lovely welcome by the receptionist and thoroughly enjoyed our free coffee and scones. Room was large and very comfortable and Spa facil are excellent. Only black mark for the hotel was incredibly slow service at our pre dinner drinks and dinner itself. Decided to go for a drink in the bar before our dinner reservation, sat for 15 minutes with no service, decided to just go up to the bar and was told someone would be across to take our order but it was a further wait of 20 mins before our order was taken. As for the food it was incredible but again the service was very slow, our plates took and age to be cleared at every course. Our finished dinner plates sat for at least 30 mins as various staff wandered past.
