We so enjoyed our stay at Cardrona. From start to finish we had no criticisms of room, staff or food. Excellent hotel.

We enjoyed our short break. The food was excellent, hot, varied and beautifully presented. The staff were always courteous and most helpful. Kelly (trainee) was particularly helpful and her personality was most attractive, with all guests, not just with us. The room was clean and the linen was changed each day. The Admin staff were efficient and answered any questions with a smile and were very well informed. In short, a very enjoyable experience in a lovely Hotel.

nice break food hotel and staff good thru the lift did break down and was out of action for nearly a day and a half not so good for us as my wife is not keeping well just now and our room was on the top floor would had been nice if the management asked if we where still happy in that floor

This hotel is convenient for us for short breaks. We can wheel in our 2 cases which are spacious for a 5 day holiday . We travel by car from not too far away. We are pleased that we were allocated the same room [222] that we occupied in May this year at no extra cost. We do wish to have a southerly facing room overlooking the golf course [practice range] The room had a separate bath and shower unit which is good. The Classic Britain upgrading to 'best available room' is an important point for us as we like to take advantage of 'bargain breaks' from time to time representing short holidays with minimum effort. The one hour extra sign out time was also very useful enabling us to have a leisurely breakfast and not rush our return home packing prior to departure. We appreciated your arranging an extra day for us at the 'special offer' price.

Overall we had a lovely stay and although we had to leave a day early due to a family medical problem they did not charge us which we thought was a lovely gesture. We have lowered the service and food slightly as my wife asked for a decaf coffee and she believes it was a normal coffee as she was awake all night and the lamb on one meal was undercooked but overall the service and staff were excellent

Great hotel great choice of food and nice and courteous team of staff. Rooms large and beds really comfortable. Bathroom also really clean with separate shower unit to the bath

The only criticism I have is that the bar was a little haphazard. My husband ordered a vodka martini and when it arrived he found it tasted very bland. On enquiring of the bar staff the reason for this he was informed they had no vermouth and that they had been instructed to add some bottled martini in absence of this! We thought this was very irregular. I otherwise found everything very satisfactory. I used the spa and found the treatment excellent.

We had a wonderful stay at this first class hotel. We received a warm welcome on arrival and the reception staff could not have been more helpful. Our room was upgraded to a lower floor as our original room was on the fourth level but the lift was not working awaiting repair. We were very happy with the alternative and were very comfortable in a very well appointed room. The quality of food and service were first class and we would highly recommend this hotel to fellow travellers. Well done McDonald hotels you thoroughly deserve your AA awards for best hotel group.

This was our 3rd stay since September and the main criticism we have is that there is very little variation in the restaurant menu and we were not permitted to have the bar menu instead unless we ate in the lounge. As we were with others who had not stayed there before, this was not an option for us. Also the wine is extremely expensive.

We have stayed in the hotel 4 times now and have never had cause for complaint. All staff without exception are friendly and helpful. Rooms have everything you need and expect and have always been clean. Breakfast sets you up till well basically your dinner at night! Dinner is exceptional - good variety of meals presented very well - in fact it's one of the main reasons we enjoy this hotel so much. I suppose I could sum this hotel experience as 'never disappointing'. Keep it up!

The hotel was lovely, clean, warm and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was delicious, the hotel is worth a visit for the 21 day aged beef alone!!! Can't wait to go back.

Great two night stay. Staff friendly, room large and well furnished. Food excellent on the first night but the second night I ordered beef and was given a lovely piece of beef rib but also a piece of steak, not cooked to my liking. It was as if they had run out of the rib and stuck a piece of steak on. They should have been up front if that was the case and ask how I wanted the steak done. Also the staff need training in how to serve wine, not good at all, not asked to taste it and not shown the bottle. T h e second night we weren't even sure we got the right bottle.

We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed in anyway. The staff were excellent. Food was the best we have had in a hotel for a long time. Room very clean and tidy bed was comfortable in fact can't find any wrong with this hotel. Looking forward to going back next year again.

This is our second visit this year and we had another enjoyable stay. The service is extremely good and the food is excellent. The location of the hotel is very good just a few miles from Pebbles we had a very enjoyable walk into Peebles about 3 miles . I will definitely go back again
