Lovely hotel friendly efficient staff food great golf course a bonus

I HAVE STAYED WITH THE CARDRONA BEFORE AND BOOKED THROUGH CLASSIC BRITAIN. HOWEVER,OUR STAY THIS TIME DID NOT MEET WITH OUR PREVIOUS LEVEL OF SERVICE. I HAD ASKED TO BE BOOKED INTO A ROOM OVERLOOKING THE GOLF COURSE BUT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. SECONDLY,ONE OF THE BEDSIDE LIGHTS DID NOT WORK AND WE INFORMED THE RECEPTION STAFF IMMEDIATELY.WE WERE THERE FOR TWO NIGHTS AND IT STILL HAD NOT BEEN ATTENDED TO BY OUR DEPARTURE. THIRDLY,AS OUR ROOM WAS NOT READY UNTIL 3PM,WE PLAYED GOLF.WHEN WE WENT TO HAVE A SHOWER AFTER GOLF ALL WATER IN THE ROOM WAS COLD,SO A SHOWER WAS NOT AN OPTION.WE PHONED RECEPTION ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THERE WAS A FAULT WITH THE HOTEL BOILER AND THAT AN ENGINEER WOULD BE SENT FOR TO FIX IT.NO TIMESCALE WAS GIVEN SO WE WENT TO DINNER WITHOUT OUR CUSTOMERY SHOWER. WHEN WE GOT TO THE DINING ROOM WE WERE ALLERTED TO THE FACT THAT OWING TO THE REPAIR OF THE BOILER THE GAS HAD TO BE SWITCHED OFF WHICH WAS NOW LEADING TO A DELAY WITH THE FOOD. AS THIS WAS THE SUNDAY NIGHT OF THE WORLD CUP FINAL,WE ASKED FOR OUR SWEET TO BE SERVED ON A TRAY FOR US TO CARRY TO OUR ROOM SO THAT WE WOULDN'T MISS ANY OF THE MATCH. WHEN WE SWITCHED ON THE TV THE PICTURE WAS HAZY,WITH SHADOWS FORMING ACROSS THE SCREEN. ON OUR DEPARTURE WE APPRAISED THE STAFF OF ALL OF OUR PROBLEMS AND WERE GIVEN A TOKEN APOLOGY. I WOULD HAVE BEEN EXPECTING A SENIOR MEMBER OF STAFF TO HAVE BEEN SENT FOR TO MAKE UP FOR OUR DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCES DURING OUR STAY. FINALLY, THE REASON FOR OUR STAY AT THIS TIME WAS DUE TO OUR ANNIVERSARY,42 YEARS. WE HAVE ENJOYED MANY VISITS TO THE CARDRONA HOTEL BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT FELL WELL BELOW OUR EXPECTATIONS ESPECIALLY AT THIS IMPORTANT OCCASION. I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RESPONSE FROM THE HOTEL AND WOULD THEREFORE ASK YOU TO INTERCEDE ON OUR BEHALF AS YOU WERE THE BOOKING AGENTS. OUR HOPE IS THAT WE WOULD BE GIVEN A SIMILAR STAY COURTESY OF THE HOTEL TO COMPENSATE US FOR OUR DISAPPOINTMENTS. SINCERELY, HENRY BRADLEY.

We had a lovely time at the Cardrona, we were allowed to check in early and had a beautiful room. Our treatments in the spa were amazing and so relaxing. At dinner time we had a beautiful table with a view looking across the golf course and the food was delicious. Can't wait to book up again!

We love this hotel, it is always peaceful and the food good. First time staying on 4th floor and felt the room was in need of refurbishing but this did not affect the quality of our stay.

the food portions for dinner are way too small one requires to purchase extras such as chips or vegetables to make you feel you have had a proper meal ( possibly set up to make more money i suggest ) breakfast is good partly buffet order cooked the service was very good but was very slow for my liking

Absolutely loved our stay at the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel. Food was delicious and this was served by friendly and attentive staff. Had a massage in the spa which was amazing, left me feeling very refreshed. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and I am looking forward to visiting again.

All very nice indeed, only very minor gripe, would have been nice to have wine served before starter so we could at least make a start! apart from that pretty much faultless.
