Very good. We had a very enjoyable 2 nights. We felt the hotel was in a very good location with easy access to walks and the golf course. We didn't,t use the golf course this time but will on subsequent visits. We thought the hotel was of a very good standard with excellent food.

We had 2 rooms booked which could not have been more different. 1 was excellent the other had no hoer, tv was not tuned in and bathroom needed some cleaning attention. Food in restaurant was excellent and most of the waiting staff very friendly and attentive. Drinks are expensive and we were overcharged for some items. Overall experience was good.

Just back from a very nice, relaxing 2 night break. The food was excellent. The room and bathroom were lovely and clean with a nice big shower and separate bath. Very comfy bed.

I have stayed here on various occasions and enjoyed it but this time felt the hotel is going downhill, as its run short of staff, I asked for two glasses and ice and was told I would be charged 25.00 which was ridiculous, I had paid for 1st night dinner and 2nd night would be charged and when I dined on the second night I asked how much the starter, main , sweet would be and was told it was a standard charge ? I wasn't given the choice of having one course and being charged for it - which I wasn't happy about - I will seriously consider if I will come back to this hotel in the future.

Very enjoyable stay, dog friendly and room, although a bit tired, very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough! Food very good. Lovely surroundings for walking with the dog. Will definitely return.

Beautiful and well-maintained hotel with stunning views. Loved the decor in the bedrooms. Bed was massive and pillows were amazing. Staff very hard-working and could not have been more helpful. Food too was delicious and the breakfast buffet was continually refreshed. Only down side was the bar. Beer in the taps was warm and the prices were among the highest I have ever seen. £13 for a glass of Rioja. Put a bit of a dampener on an otherwise amazing stay.

Arrived to be told the lift was out of action and was on the 4th floor my friend has cerebral palsy and copd so we asked for another room were given one on the 3rd floor but at the furthest end of the hotel so still a walk, stay was ok but was disappointed in the lack of ventilation in the room and that the windows couldn't open very wide

Had a wonderful 4 nights at the Cardrona,from the Bob on reception to Nicky and staff in the restaurant everyone went that extra mile to make your stay special We've had a number of visits to the Cardrona and never been disappointed.

Beautiful stay but restaurant service terrible we waited 45minutes just for a menu, then another 45 just for cold chicken almost walked out and phoned a pizza ! When we were advised by reception to speak to the manager, he was the most arrogant man ever, didn't even give eye contact and promised us a special rate when we come again ! What a prat ! Would stay again but NEVER eat there

Great location, rooms are slightly dated but very comfortable, did ask for an upgrade (was willing to pay) even though the receptionist advised they were quiet, said that wasn't possible, Think they thought I was looking for a free upgrade. Food for first class had dinner & breakfast, however unable to get a table in the restaurant (book in advance) so as so many of us sat in the bar, not the best way to eat your dinner. We had a 4th floor classic room overlooking the golf course. It was spacious and well equipped. The only downside was there was no cover on the base, so the bed didn't look it's best. We had dinner, bed and breakfast in the hotel and found the food to be very tasty and well presented. We used the pool and gym facil at the hotel. The gym was well equipped and as we didn't go at peak times, we had access to all the equipment. The pool was a different matter. A small section is available for lane swimming. During our visits these were a number of children in the pool 'playing / splashing', which is okay for a leisure centre but not for a relaxing spa pool! The hotel location is a good base for exploring the Borders region and has lovely views.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Only negative point was the condition of the 2 armchairs in the room. The springing in the back areas were in poor condition and resulted in my back feeling significantly painful due to insufficient support being provided.

Rooms are very dated & tired...pool area is very shabby & in need of refurb... Food was lovely but the service was very poor & wait one hour for breakfast!!!
