LUXURY ROTUNDA EXPERIENCE
Stay in the hotel's replica Grecian temple on the grounds of the Newby Bridge Hotel, near Lake Windermere in the Lake District.
Its design was inspired by a ruined ‘Temple of Vesta’ on a private island in Morecambe Bay. Its classical good looks including Corinthian columns, a circular skylight and trompe l’oeil work by interior designer James Mackie hide some great fingertip technology.
Recently completed and perched up high with views of Lake Windermere, this beautiful, elegant, Georgian folly, provides couples with a large bedroom and ensuite. Nearby is the Victorian Aviary Garden, a RHS Chelsea Flower Show garden that has been relocated here.
Some of the technological features included:
• A single control operates everything from towel rails to changing the lighting, opening the skylight and revealing the TV which drops down on a special lift
• Carefully designed LED sensory mood lighting makes the most of the internal space and the adjacent garden
• Speakers, discretely placed in the ceiling, give great acoustics and mean you can play your music.
• There’s no techie clutter as everything is hidden away including the iPort docking station for an iPod or iPhone which is recessed into the wall.
• A clever lift brings the 42-inch plasma LG television out of the domed ceiling when needed.
