Directions to Red Lion Hotel in Colchester
M25 – Jct 28 – A12 sign posted East Anglia and Chelmsford. Once you are on the A12, follow the signs to Colchester (Approx. 40-45 miles). Turn off at Colchester Central (A133) after the exit for Colchester West/Halstead. Continue 500 meters to a large roundabout, taking the 2nd exit for the town centre. Continue to the next roundabout and take the 3rd exit, Signposted town centre. Follow the road until you reach the next roundabout and take the 3rd exit up Balkerne Hill. At the next round about take the first exit onto the South Way. At the traffic lights turn left onto Head Street and continue straight through 2 sets of traffic lights.At the third set of lights turn right on to the High Street, you will find the Red Lion Hotel on the right hand side just past Marks & Spencer.
Some Sat Navs will attempt to direct you to the hotel via Middleborough South and North Hill; this route is now closed and ONLY vehicular access to the hotel and its car park is via Head Street as detailed in directions above.
Colchester is the closest train station, from there the hotel is a 5 minute walk.
Stansted Airport is 31 miles from the hotel.

Carry on down the High street in the one way system and get in the left hand lane.As there is a bus lane at the bottom of the high street you need to continue down the hill and come back on yourself. When you have come back up the hill and reach the traffic lights turn left and you will be travelling down Queen Street
Continue down this road until you come to the fourth set of traffic lights. When you come to the Fourth set of traffic lights turn right and you will then be on Osborne Street.As soon as you have turned right you will see the NCP Car park on your Left.
WALKING FROM THE NCP CAR PARK BACK TO THE HOTEL
When you come out of the NCP car park turn left and walk past the Gala Bingo Hall. Once you have walked past the Gala Bingo Hall You will come to an indoor bus shelter with blue lights.Cross over the road using the crossing just opposite the bus shelter. Walk round the corner of Straws nightclub and you will find yourself at Vine Yard Street Open Air Car Park.
Walk Up the small set of stairs to the car park and head towards the lift and stairs. Make your way up either the stairs or the lift when you reach the top turn right and walk.
