The Rob Roy is set within Scotland's first National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty with rugged hills and sparkling lochs, and virtually unlimited things to see and do.
Scotland is the home of golf and there are plenty of fantastic golfing opportunities nearby Aberfoyle Golf Club is across the road, overlooked by the majestic Ben Lomond.
There are excellent fishing opportunities throughout the park, and the Lake of Menteith, just minutes from the hotel, is a great place to start. The Lake is one of Scotland's most beautiful fisheries, with the tranquil ruins of Inchmahone Priory on one of the islands within. there are plenty more water-based activities nearby, from sailing on the 19th century Sir Walter Scott on Loch Katrine to white-water rafting.
We think it would be difficult to find a better walking base anywhere, and why not start by having a lovely stroll from the hotel along the banks of The Forth to the picturesque village of Aberfoyle, with its Craft Shops and Visitors Centres.
Walking a little sedate for you? How about flying along Britain's longest zip wire, 150 feet above a 90-foot waterfall?! Go Ape is the place for you...
