The one mile length of the River Aire provides the river fly fisher with the opportunity for some challenging fly fishing for its wild Brown Trout, some of which are in excess of 2lbs. The River Aire has excellent hatches of fly and offers good sport to dry fly and nymph tactics.

The Coniston Hall lake and the River Aire are open for fly fishing from 1st April to 1st October inclusive
