The Western House Hotel in Ayr was built in 1920, within the grounds of Ayr Racecourse, the top racecourse in Scotland; it was formerly the home of the Clerk of the Course before becoming the headquarters of the Western Meeting Club. In 2003 the Racecourse was taken over and in the following years Western House was restored and refurbished to one of Ayrshire's most highly regarded hotels.

These buildings stand separate from the Mansion House (where Reception, the Restaurant and our Lounge are located) and, unfortunately, the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors can only be accessed by stairs.
