You can book family rooms on line, and in the vast majority of cases children under 15yrs can stay for free when sharing with two adults. Meals for children are added to the cost at time of booking. This way you will receive a discount on meals. Myhotelbreak standard children meal charges are as follows but some hotels do differ, so closely check when making your booking:

0 - 4 years. No charge for accommodation, pay for meals as taken.
5 - 9 years. £5 Bed & Breakfast. £10 Dinner, Bed & Breakfast.
10 - 14 years.£10 Bed & Breakfast. £18 Dinner, Bed & Breakfast.
