i would just like to say that my wife and i really did enjoy our weekend away, the staff are amazing from the front desk to the restaurant staf go out their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. the food was also excellent hot fresh and great value for money, we go away regular and i would definitely return to the cally palace

Our second visit was even better than the excellent first. The deluxe room was superb and the food, although for some reason spread over two menus, was very good and enjoyable, and the staff were as helpful as you you could ask for. We will try and return.

Great 'old style' hotel set in lovely grounds. We had a fabulous deluxe twin room overlooking the grounds. Food was nice (except the chips!) Good choice of wine and spirits at reasonable prices, and the bar/conservatory and lounge were lovely places to sit. The pool area was clean & quiet when were there. There's a snooker table, a pool table and table tennis table for a bit of fun after dinner. Grounds are lovely for a walk, and we drove to the village (too far for us to walk). Staff are very friendly and helpful (especially Dave/Bar, Barry/restaurant & Annie/reception). We had a great stay and will go back, highly recommend if you want a nice quiet break away for a couple of days.

We found the hotel very comfortable, the staff very friendly and efficient and we enjoyed the meals. The surroundings are beautiful, particularly in the lovely weather we had.

We had an enjoyable 2 night BB and dinner 1st night break at this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were well furnished and clean. Hotel was quiet at this time of year. Food was to a high standard. The break terms included £30 per person towards dinner and the only comment was the price of most of the the main courses were cica £25 so budget for additional costs for a starter and or a dessert.

Fab hotel, in a lovely location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent!! Added bonus of having breakfast in bed! Pool was also a lovely extra.

The room we had was very traditional, It was clean, and spacious. A few things weren't great, ripping in the curtains, cushion looked in need of a clean. The leisure area again looks in need of a refurbishment but facilities were fine. The woman on the check in desk was incredibly helpful and so lovely, as was the woman on the bar. However there was a gentleman on reception who we found to be rather rude and unhelpful, very quick to fling the cards to the woman who was very clearly in the middle of dong something and demanded her to do it instead. We didn't eat dinner within the hotel, but breakfast was enjoyable, the continental breakfast had a good selection. For the amount of guest who attended breakfast while we were there (perhaps 5 tables?) it would have been more appetising if the hot food was cooked per order rather than sitting for a long time. I feel that this hotel was a dream in it's prime.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Hotel and grounds are beautiful. However I was disappointed to have to go to reception on arrival to ask for teabags, milk and basics like a toilet roll. We didn’t like the red mugs at breakfast, I would expect a cup and saucer. I enjoyed several swims in the pool but disappointed my wife couldn’t use the sauna or jacuzzi as advertised.

Had a lovely two days with friends and we all enjoyed the Hotel with the staff food etc all first class Our room if slightly old fashioned was spotless light and airy with everything we needed Both the guys played golf on what was a very enjoyable and challenging course

We were 6 siblings in our 60's ish. We all thought the rooms were excellent, large, spotlessly clean and all different. Food, both breakfast and dinner was superb, as was the wine. Slight complaint about the weather. The staff however made it just that wee bit more special. Thank you all so much.

This is the third time we’ve stayed here and it’s always been really good.A nice place to relax and enjoy the great leisure facilities the buffet style breakfast is excellent my only concern was some of the prices for the main courses the food was very well cooked but the presentation of the steak I felt was really poor a nice steak on the plate with a large single ck of carrot and huge potato which was undercooked that’s why I have given a 5 under food review the plate looked very underrated and bland

A lovely hotel beautifully decorated for Christmas. Evening meal was delicious and well presented. Staff were all helpful and obliging. Room was spacious and comfortable. Leisure facilities were great with a lot of variety from sauna to snooker.

Beautiful interior and grounds. Leisure pool and facilities good. Service good. Food was variable. Dinner on the first night was quite good but next morning some of the breakfast food was dried out. The fish and chicken on the second night were both overcooked and dried out. Pity this let them down.
