This was an anniversary stay and was very well received. The reception staff on hearing this put a card in the room along with a couple of treats and a lovely message written in chocolate. All the other staff were very attentive during our stay. We intend to go back in late spring

Had a very comfortable stay. Bit disappointed in the staff in the bar and restaurant not very efficient or speedy. Food was only average. Had the chicken curry smallish breast of chicken in the middle of a cold plate with sauce that barely covered it, accompanied by rice and 2 very small pieces of nan bread. Not very satisfying or reasonably priced Don’t think I will rush back

Lovely hotel and gorgoues surroundings Staff very professional and polite Leisure pool/spa nice enjoyable Room was really nice with beautiful view Disappointed in food, breakfast was served luke warm tea/coffee horrible taste. Toast very thin and either cold or burnt. No beans at breakfast. Dinner had to return the chicken meal it was disgusting Prices for Dinner menu are ridiculous/overpriced . Ran out of beans at 7.45am in the morning for breakfast. Bar area had no pink the 2 nights stay they had ran out Had to but bottled rose' wine

Spacious room, a little tired. Service OK if slow in the dining room. Food poor choice & not good value.

Beautiful setting & scenery with great hills walking trails on your doorstep. Fab breakfast & staff very friendly, helpful & welcoming. Only complaint would be the macaroni cheese when we ordered room service. This is one of the easiest dishes to make & was very poor, no evidence of cheese & watery sauce :( Fish & chips were great. Pool was nice but busy as schools off. Definitely be back again though.

Totally fantastic stay, hotel and staff are very good and helpful, the leisure facilities are amazing, they were not crowded at all when we were there .. The hotel grounds are so stunning, as is the surrounding area. I would go back, and recommend to others, the deal with My Hotel Break is not to be missed

The hotel is lovely great location, nightmare to drive there. It's a miss match inside not really disabled friendly, with steps up to reception. The disabled room I booked was a nightmare, the bathroom was ment for a wheelchair, I had to kneel on the floor to use the wash hand basin and to shave in the mirror. The bed was to high to get in if you was in a wheelchair. The food was over priced and breakfast on both days was not cooked and had to be sent back . Over all it qas a massive let down and would not go again.

We enjoyed our time here so much we extended our stay! Lovely clean room with a lovely view of the garden's & side view Loch. I enjoyed a bubble bath in the spacious modern bathroom after a day out sightseeing. We also enjoyed strolling round the beautiful gardens with our dog. Cooked breakfast was amazing.

Loved our short break. Used spa facilities, free bottle of wine in room. Ate in restuarant. What wasn’t to like! Room was comfy. Loved it.

The hotel is set in magnificent grounds and gardens overlooking the fabulous Loch Lomond. It is just 4 miles from Aberfoyle but you have to pay close attention to driving on a mostly single track road but well worth the effort to see the outside of the hotel and its grounds including separate apartments and separate leisure centre.

Was overall relatively happy until my main course (chicken) was over cooked but still charged for it. Rooms are very dated and paintwork around hotel is very dated and needs freshened up.

Hotel in stunning peaceful setting with great views over gardens and loch, room 309 car park view ?? though room nice enough, large comfy bed, thougable to sleep due to noise of air vent fans running all night, reported to reception and was informed few people have mentioned it so avoid this room if you can. Restaurant views stunning , food nice though a bit on the pricey side, £25 allowance didn’t cover amount for 2 courses. Had a nice stay all be it a sleepless night.

Was a great stay the hotel was beautiful, and the leisure facilities were great after being out in the cold. The location was great with beautiful views. The £25.00 toward the evening meal doesn't stretch far on the menu as only the garden restaurant was open and the choices were limited although the food tasted great and breakfast was cooked to order, there was a supplement for some breakfast items as well

Had a lovely stay at Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel. The hotel itself is a bit tired but that aside it was clean and the food was lovely. We used the swimming pool and changing area is rather run down; we were provided with towels but I wish I had brought my own.... they were very worn. The swimming pool area is adequate but we felt it was in need of a good deep clean.

The room was very comfortable but it would be good to have a nightlight in the bathroom. The light would disturb the other person during the night. Our room was not serviced during our stay. It was too late to do anything when we got back. We did get supplies from reception. The service charge was removed at checkout. The food was very highly priced and if not for the £50 it would have too expensive.

The deal of bed breakfast & evening meal with wine is worth it , however please be prepared to pay inflated prices for a basic meal and wine . The 25 pound towards dinner only covers your main meal. Small portions with a little gem leaf for veg ( although nice food) . The drink prices are ridiculous and that's why people don't spend too much time at the bar. The breakfast was lovely and breakfast staff really nice . The facilities not good - the spa if you can call it that, needs money spent . The sauna is not hot enough , the steam room is smelly and the jacuzzi is hilarious. My bath at home is bigger . The staff are lovely though. The front of house staff that we encountered need some training on hospitality, sour faced and unhappy . We didn't get in to our room until 3.25 due to an issue with locks. No apology, no offer of a drink as we waited. Checkout staff much nicer but didn't ask us how our stay was ( they probably knew most people not happy) all in all , we don't feel we would come back for the facilities, but the location and our bedroom was really lovely - spotless clean - could be a beautiful hotel with some money spent on facilities and better front of house staff . Our deal of £149 ended up costings £210- plus another £44 for 4 drinks so £254 - not a great deal at all .

The room was great - very comfortable and clean, check in was quick and staff friendly. Food in the restaurant was great although the wine is hugely overpriced. Breakfast was a bit disorganised; no milk jugs for tea, no plates initially for continental items. Spa is great, it was nice and quiet when we were there, had a fabulous massage and facial, facilities and location lovely

We enjoyed our short break to this hotel, weather was the only thing that spoiled it. It rained most of the time we were there. Our room was very nice. Only one complaint we were on the top floor with quite a few stairs to climb. The food was great along with the service from the staff.
