Staff very friendly and helpful. The pool area is very good lovely big pool ,steam room excellent. The hotel has had some work done on it since my last visit and it looks really good.

The hotel staff were pleasant and the room was fairly large. However, the bath was very dirty and we had to call housekeeping services to clean it before we could use it.

Great place,but a bit cold when it came to living up to the "deal" had to ask twice for free bottle of champagne, and charged for dinner which was included in the deal.Great setting.

We had been along to Aberfoyle many times and had never ventured along the road to Kinlochard! Why not indeed!! What were we missing? A stunning view a peaceful area but most of all the fantastic facilities of Forest Hills. We have stayed at a number of the Macdonald Hotels but this must be one of the best too date. I had been looking for a nice place to go for a quiet break with my husband who has been working so hard of late he was badly in need of a bit of relaxation! This place was the biz! All of the staff were absolutely terrific from the moment we checked in to the leisure facilities to the bistro and breakfast room next morning. We only stayed one night at the start of a week away from home taking in Aberfoyle, Killin, Inveraray and Loch Eck nr Ardentinny. If I had known that this place was so amazing, I would have booked for more than one night for sure! The classic deal was incredible. Would certainly book with them again for the amazing value! Had a great stay at the Hotel. Enjoyed the Spa and the food was very good. Hotel is a bit tired and in need of modernisation. The Jacuzzi only ran for 3 minutes at a time and has been an issue for a long time according to other reviews of the Hotel. I would return to this Hotel.

had a lovely peacefull time in this beautifull hotel, enjoyed a relaxing swim in the pool. The rooms were spotless and the food was excellent. The hotel is set in a stunning location wich has definately set us in the mind that we will return again early next year.

room especially bathroom looking tired. dirt in various parts of bath area. items not replaced or dirty glasses removed. on the whole housekeeping poor. access to the bistro needs to be redecorated looking tatty.

As a first time visitor to Forrest Hill Hotel I was not impressed with the allocated room looking on to the car park and fitted out for disabled but i upgraded to a room with a view at a cost.The staff did give a good service to make it happen.

loved the quirky room, food was good although salmon portion was too small, but we had to book in the bistro as the restaurant was booked until 21.15 which was too late. The manager in the bistro was overbearing and made us uncomfortable and was over familiar with his hands being placed on members of his staff.

Hotel generally very good but excellent restaurant and bar service let down by reception staff on 22/09/13 and 23/09/13 in marked contrast to pleasant receptionist on 24/09/13. Requested quiet room on high floor when booking and reiterated my request to the receptionist on arrival. We were given a first floor room in the middle of the corridor overlooking the car park and laundry entrance. Hotel was quiet so this was not the "best available room". At these prices I do not expect to be allocated one of the more expensive executive rooms in the main building but the "standard" bedroom block had open outlooks on the three other elevations away from the car park. As previously mentioned, the excellent dining and bar service together with the splendid food should have resulted in a high score but the reception let the side down. I took to saying good morning to the reception staff to force them acknowledge our presence. Conversely the receptionist on the day of our departure could not have been pleasant, and indeed so pleasant we did not argue when the cost of our stay came to slightly more than the figure quoted when we booked.

food was very good but spoiled by having same menu for 3 consecutive days with only daily special change OBAN BAY gave far better choice and excellent food more choice excellent food.
