A few minor issues when we arrived with our room. These were rectified fairly quickly. Overall a great stay and good food.Watching the curling was an added bonus especially from the warmth of the bar.

Stayed in this hotel on previous occasions for business so knew what to expect. It's listed as a 3* hotel and it's very good, I mistakenly ticked for a twin room rather than a double when booking, asked reception if it was possible to swap which they did, giving a front facing room with a view which I assume would have been slightly more ...going by the 'room type' when booking. Some of the rooms are a bit dated, which is reflected in the price. I booked the DBB option which was a £30 voucher per room, to spend on food/drink, to be honest, this would only cover the cheapest main meal for two people and nothing else, but not complaining as it was a total of £124 for two of us. The food prices are reasonably priced and a good selection to choose from in the main restaurant. The staff were very pleasant and went out of their way to accommodate, had a good night in the Curling bar where evening entertainment was in full swing. All in all, it was great value for money and will certainly look to book again on a similar deal.

Stayed in a suite with balcony, very spacious. Clean. Decor dated, but ok. Nice big comfy bed. Stayed in winter, but would be much better in summer, only stayed night, but really enjoyed it. Breakfast very good. Would go back.

Very dated and shabby hotel. Rooms slightly grubby, 1970’s furniture and carpets. The main dining room looked nice, but we didn’t get to eat there as we had dogs with us. The lounge where we ate didn’t have any windows, we didn’t even get a tablecloth. Some members of staff were good, but quite a few obviously didn’t want to be there. Would not recommend and would not stay there again.

Overall, the hotel is a bit tired and in need of upgrading throughout. The staff were lovely and the temperature in the jacuzzi and swimming pool are better than any other hotel we have stayed at.

Nice base for visiting the area. Nice large room, clean and in good decorative order. Much of the furnishings are very dated and unfortunately the view from our window was just of a corrugated roof. Ate dinner in the restaurant, food was good and great service but couldn’t even get a main course each for the £30 voucher. Cooked breakfast was waitress served as was tea and coffee. Helped yourself to fruit juice, cereal and toast. Friendly, welcoming staff. Efficient checkin and checkout

Yet another great break at this lovely hotel with very friendly staff and lovely meals, we were at Neil Diamond tribute night which was superb with a great act, fabulous DJ and of course more friendly locals. Special mention to manager Ian and his lovely deputy Helen not forgetting Mo the barman as well as reception and catering staff especially the chefs? As the saying goes credit to the team who run this lovely hotel. We’ll be back soon

I remembered NWC Hotel as being a social and welcoming place years ago. This was the main reason why I chose here. But not if you have your dog with you! It says it’s a dog friendly hotel - oh no it’s not! Dogs are not allowed anywhere except in your room. This literally means from your car to your room. We had dinner on the first night in a large cold room on our own, no atmosphere. We then ventured into a room off the lobby where we thought we could have a drink. (Dogs not allowed in the bar) but no, we were told ‘no dogs allowed here’ we were shrugging our shoulders and saying goodbye to the couple we were chatting to when Mr Donnachie appeared and told us, no dogs allowed here, if we don’t move, we would have to leave the hotel! I was gobed! I’ve never been spoken to in that manner in any hotel before. This is obviously a not dog friendly hotel and, that’s entirely up to the hotel but please don’t say it’s dog friendly. The member of staff who stood out and went over and above her duties and was kind and helpful was Yvonne, she was lovely, Mr Donnachie (the manager) needs to take a leaf out of her book.

This is a great hotel, the staff are very pleasant and friendly. The food is excellent and has a varied menu. There is a games room and swimming pool and sauna. Lots to do without going out in the rain. Would definitely recommend you stay there. It has a long history to explore if you’re interested. Will be going back again soon.

Staff welcoming on arrival when checking in which was very quick and easy. Hotel room was very large, bathroom outdated but room and bathroom clean and tidy. We are in restaurant both nights as well as having drinks in the bar where service was attentive and food very tasty. Breakfast both mornings went down nicely, buffet could be better with more variety.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel and the food was really lovely. Alcohol was a bit pricey but as we are not big drinkers we accepted that. The staff were lovely and very helpful and so we would not hesitate to recommend it.

Room was possibly the worst I’ve ever stayed in. Really dated furniture and toilet Room was cold only one radiator working no the following morning I do wonder had I booked direct with the hotel if we would have received a better room, perhaps the discount given by my hotel means you are given rooms that are not as nice

The Hotel was absolutely spotless and a well maintained inside decor I like old fashioned but in great condition… one complaint was our room was absolutely freezing no double glassing and one small radiator…the window was actually blowing back and forward with the wind….Dinner was lovely, well presented and served well by the staff…the breakfast not so good … Lorna Gilluley
