We were delighted with our visit, we were upgraded to an executive room on arrival and the room was clean and spacious with a view over the courtyard. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Breakfast and Dinner were very good, we particularly liked the fact that you could choose from either the main or bar menu at dinner. This was exceptional value for money and we would not hesitate to return to this hotel.

The hotel was in a good position to walk to the shore where are great views over the firth. Our room was very comfortable and we both got a good nights sleep in the comfy beds. The food in the main restaurant was very good and was always presented piping hot and with good sized portions. The full Scottish breakfast set us up for the day. The only quibble we had was that there were only 5 channels on the tv which these days is below par.

Our room was a executive room which was just ok for the price I paid if I had paid anymore I would have been disappointed the service in the dining room was diabolical with people sat with dirty dinner plates in front of them for a long time and having to ask the waitress to take there plates away and bring the desert menu also it was valentines night but you would never know it I am sure it wouldn't have have taken much time or cost a lot to put a rose or a sprinkling of hearts on the table I do not think I will be returning

Stayed on Saay the 30/01/16, overnight stay, greeted with a very cheery young lady, checked in quickly, found our room, which was nice and warm on this very cold January day, in fact came through a very bad blizzard around Keith, not experienced weather like that before, back to our room, it was nicely decorated, with all the usual facil, nice enough bathroom, with cubicle shower and bath, dinner was fine, but the dining room was very dull, and drab, updating the lighting would help, because, breakfast in the morning was a different experience with the light of day, nice breakfast, the staff are a credit to the hotel, recommended.

We enjoyed our 'twixmas' break despite after only an hour in the hotel we found out that the boiler in out part of the hotel had just packed up - no heating or hoer! We were offered a different room, which we declined, but did use its shower facil for three days which meant trogging off in pyjamas etc to the next floor down. We didn't feel at all embarrassed wandering about like this since several other guests were doing the same. Our reason for not wanting to change rooms was simple - we'd already unpacked and we'd been upgraded to a suite, very nice. The management were very helpful and I felt sorry for them as they tried to get the situation rectified in a holiday period with Hogmanay and a full hotel just around the corner. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine to accompany our first evening meal and a generous deduction was made to our bill. The hotel was a little tired in some of the public areas and we felt the dining room and other areas lacked a Christmassy feel. We had expected more for a 'twixmas' break. Having said that we found both breakfast and evening meals very satisfying and the staff friendly and helpful.

Really nice hotel in pleasant surroundings room and food wouldn't be out of place in a five star hotel.All staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful, enjoyed a great stay over three nights hope to return sometime soon.

We had a lovely stay at Newton Hotel. Lovely welcome at reception and loved our bedroom. We ate in the hotel that evening and had a lovely meal. There was lots of choice for breakfast although my husband would have preferred a whole slice of black pudding and haggis! Very enjoyable relaxing stay.

Initially put in a bedroom that was not great at all. Wallpaper coming off the wall, holes in carpet, tv very fuzzy and floor boards really squeaky. Certainly not good enough for 4* hotel. Spoke to reception who were very quick to get manager who moved us to a lovely room which was faultless. Thank you very much for your quick resolution.

We weren't told when breakfast was when we booked in, or that we had to book in for dinner every night. Besides that, I loved staying here. The ladies at reception were friendly, the room was nice, the food was amazing (but be prepared to dress up for dinner)

Really enjoyed our stay. We had an older style 'classic room'(104), which had a lovely view. The room needs some partial refurbishment, but we had no complaint, as we liked it's 'faded elegance' and found it very comfortable . The staff were very pleasant and helpful, especially Carolina on reception and Rob and Jamie in the dining room. The food was of a good standard and the hotel had nice grounds, with Highland cattle grazing. We had an excellent deal at the hotel through Classic Britain and would happily stay at this hotel again.
